Keep in mind there were only about 275 JSB GS's verts made. Does this one trip your trigger? In Wisconsin...

I have driven mine from Ky to Key West several times. The ride is very good. I have spent 12 hours in the seat of mine before without any issues. I drive my car much more than I drive my Harley these days at 64 years old. They are awesome cars with great dependability.

Case in point, the one you linked doesn't have it but is otherwise EXACTLY what the OP is after.

Just to stir things up as long as we're playing word salad...
There is no such thing as A Z16, nor is there A Z51. Likewise, Z16 and Z51 are not models. Some '05-'09 base cars had the Z51 Performance Package Handling option. Some '10-'13 cars had the Z16 Performance Package Grand Sport option AND the Z51 Performance Package Handling option.
Yer welcome.

I am hoping we will soon take a long drive up to see that WI JSB GS. If we "experience" the car, maybe my wife and I will jointly agree it is worth putting that amount of money into it instead of having a more secure safety cushion. Unfortunately, the holidays are so very busy so it is difficult to dedicate a full day this month.
Thanks again for thinking of me.
We do have a fall-back plan. We are in communication with the owner of a low mileage 2004 Commemorative Edition convertible that is priced right for our financial considerations. This is why we are not trigger happy with a C6 in the same general color scheme. We owned a 2003 A/E vert that we sold over 10 years ago, so we are very familiar with the C5. At the same time, it would be so very nice to go one generation better.

When I bought my '05 I wanted one with the Z51 package for resale and because I liked the look of it sitting 1" lower than base. I bought the GS for resale and because I liked the look of the wide body.
I now have my (perhaps) last Corvette...a '66 roadster reminiscent of the '64 roadster I bought in '66.

Totally get your quandary. From what I have seen posted the lines of expenditure comfort and JSB GS vert in an acceptable condition for you all do not meet. I was in a similar boat and, like you, was dead set on a particular year and options. Everyone has different circumstances, but I took a deep breath and took the plunge and ended up getting exactly what I wanted. I could not be more satisfied with my decision. From the great info posted in your thread, it looks as if your desired Corvette is not too common, so obviously that must be factored in. YMMV. Best of luck with your search (but be careful of looking at and driving a JSB GS vert as you may never want anything else).

There is a three step solution.
1. Split with the wife
2. Buy the Vette YOU want
3. Reconcile with the wife

Why not consider the 427 convertible? I like the GS but if i ever went convertible it would HAVE to be the 427.. (RED with black top is the only way to go.. talk about a head turner, your golf buddies will be DROOLING!!)
Iconic and going to hold its value(and put some on)

OP you can put 2 sets of clubs in the trunk if you have modest bags, not staff bags.
The exhaust is not loud and you can get a mild to wild switch to control it. With the top up and valves closed it's very quiet. With the top down and the valves open it's a nice low rumble.
With mag ride it is very smooth and comfortable. Others say there are squeaks and rattles but I'm on C6 #2 and neither has had squeaks or rattles.
You are overthinking all of this, the C6 GS 'vert is a great car, especially in JS blue. You realize by now that they didn't make that many and no one is likely to under price theirs. You get what you pay for, life is short and the car is likely to hold its value. In the end you have to decide what's best for you, good luck.

Because the GS is out of his price range.

I bought the 2012 GS in my avatar a few months ago. It's my 4th Corvette, third C6, 2nd GS. The GS was also a 2012 but an auto coupe. I really enjoy having a M6 and a convertible again. The vert is a 3LT, NPP, Nav etc, 32,000 miles. I paid about what the blue one posted above is asking.
If it's what you want, get it. Life is short. I'm in my late 60's, I plan to drive the manual Corvette as long as I can.
Good luck!
Bud

Bud, your white with maroon interior was what caught my wife's attention many years ago when we were in a Chevy dealer showroom. It was used. The C7 was out then. Though she will say today, that white/maroon one was real sharp, she loves the blue with gray or tan....as do I
I hear everyone's comments about not placing so much weight on the cost. You are all getting to me.

Keep something else in mind when it comes to the ride...the tires can make a HUGE difference. My 10 base coupe was **** on the oem goodyear eagles. I changed them to Michelin PS4S's and the ride and handling was night & day difference! Also as to the noise in the coupe there are several sound deadening products you can add to mitigate that. Also had NPP and installed mild to wild and that enabled me to go loud at idle to low rpms when I wanted. With switch off, normal conversation was possible.
