Default Problem

About 2 months ago I had new tires installed at RandR tire, every time I go to drive the car I have to put air in the tires. I’ve gone back to RandR several times to have them check to see what the problem is, and every time they say everything seems to be fine no problem found. Just asking what do you guys think the problem could be? Thanks

Did they put the mounted tires and wheels under water looking for bubbles or use a soapy solution?

I guess you can start to diagnose yourself. I would put a soapy solution of water in a spray bottle spray a liberal amount around the outside bead of the tire and the valve stem and see if you start blowing bubbles. Most of the tire the installers do not clean the bead on the wheel before putting on new tires. I know Discount tire changes the seal on the TPMS sensors every time, but I am not sure what others do.

Strange. You have to put air in all 4, or just 1 or 2? How low are they, like 1 or 2 PSI? Or 10+ PSI low?

Take them to another tire shop and ask them to look at them instead of going back to the same place.

Make the dealer fix it/them or take them back. Best way to test both beads, tires and valve stems is in a tire test tank.

Test them yourself and video, then email them (and the video). If they don't do "something" then put in a chargeback on your card, hope you didn't pay cash. The video and correspondence will help the CC co.

As mentioned, it could be leaking air at the bead around the rim. I had wheels that had aluminum oxide around the bead area, and it could not be sealed properly, no matter how much gunk they used. I had to buy new wheels, and no issues since.

I had the same problem, but with chrome wheels and chrome was coming part on the inside of the bead, which made my tires leak!

Don't ask, how I fixed the problem.

I’m thinking about buying new chrome rims, hopefully that will fix the problem.

I had 2 of the 4 new tires on my wife's Genesis go flat (thankful for AAA), and it was because the valve in the stems were not tightened enough. I discovered it myself when she arrived home and I filled the flat with air, and sprayed the valve stem, and sure enough, it was leaking. Then checked the other two, and they were also not seated enough. That's on the technician, and I went to the tire shop and shared that with the manager.

If your looking to update your chrome wheels
check out the options from
wheel Craft
https://wheelcraft.com
They have a wheel exchange program that works
quite well.
good people good company

See Response number three also! Simple to find out!!! Pull the tire or tires off the vehicle, lay it/them on the floor, mix some dish washing soap in a spray bottle, and have at it. Where you see the bubbles forming is where they are leaking! If you see nothing WALK AWAY, for 15 minutes, come back and look again , real tiny leaks will look like "wipped cream" or foam. lay the tire at a 45 degree angle vale stem at bottom. take your time as sometimes it takes a bit of time.
PS: make sure there is air in the tires, can also spray this on the wheels to see if they are porous.

Had this identical problem on OEM Lexus wheels that had been chrome plated and this eliminated the problem:
- Dismounted the tire
- Cleaned and removed the loose chrome plating on the rim bead area with a wire wheel brush on a drill
- Cleaned the rim bead area with 3M adhesive / wax remover
- Masked off the front and back of the rims
- Painted two coats of Plasti dip on the entire rim bead area and let it dry 2 days before remounting the tires
