That is surely "Not My Thing", but it looks surprisingly eye catching. If it is done with great quality and workmanship, I could see it being worth a lot of extra money. But $115,000 extra? You just gotta love it that much more to lay down that kind of money.

The door handle seems to be from a C5. Not for me but I'll not cast stones at those who like it.

Below is the excerpt from the 2nd slide...

Despite its classic exterior, the RetroVette boasts modern comforts and conveniences. From a power-retractable black soft top to xenon headlights and fog lights, every detail exudes sophistication. Inside, the blend of black and red leather upholstery, along with advanced features like navigation, a Bose sound system, and Keyless Access, ensures a luxurious driving experience reminiscent of contemporary sports cars.

So is this the less advanced model since I don't see navigation, unless it's a TomTom in the glove box.

Just speculation but it's probably a salvaged 15K mile C6 combined with some C5 parts. At least the doors anyway, possibly the hood operating mechanism, hinges, etc.

I see this as the result of a Plymouth Prowler banging a C1

Everyone has an opinion and so here is mine in proper perspective. I would much rather spend the $45,000 on what I recently bought (fully optioned 2013 GS with 12K miles) than the same money on that one.

I saw a C1 style retro style package(or whatever it is called) on a C6 and yeah, it looked ridiculous. You can retro fit an LS motor and upgrade the suspension of a C1 or C2 and have a really fine vehicle.
There is a guy around here who has a '59 with an LS3, custom interior, the works, and it is very desireable and gets sig attention at cruises etc. It also has a resonable set of aftermarket wheels and not the stupidly oversized hood rat rims that some guys seem to like on these custom jobs.

I consider updating a C1 to be an abortion.

With that said, I have driven a fully restored original 57 Ford T-Bird about 20 miles. I could not wait until that cruise was over. It was the most uncomfortable car I ever experienced. So...With that experience, anticipating a similar experience with a C1, I could see that C6-retro made to look like a C1 to be an excellent choice for a rare someone.

How true is this.
I've had the same experience with a couple friends who were very involved with the 1st gen 2 seater T-Birds and another into C1 Corvettes.
The old T-Birds are cool to see on the road and at shows but are absolute torture chambers to ride in for more than 10 minutes. The C1 Corvettes are only a little bit better.

Oh, boy, deep into opinion time for me now. IMO, yes and no, Ron. Yes with the fact that these 70 or nearly 70 year old cars, even if faithfully restored to original, are crude riding by the standards of modern Corvettes. To me, if a C1 is restomodded beneath the skin — retaining the original external appearance — that is a true sweet spot. One thing that ruins the look for me is when someone puts large wheels with extremely low profile tires on it. Or, when there are body modifications, either additions or removals. If I had the dough and the desire, I would want modern drivability and creature comforts with the original external appearance. Plus, I’m not talking about surgery on a near perfect survivor. So, that’s just me and I’m sure there are nearly as many opinions here as there are members.

My point about that perfect original 57 T-Bird, had nothing to do with the car's acceleration, shifting, drivability, handling, braking, etc. It had "EVERYTHING" to do with my flesh & blood body to the vehicle's interior ergonomics. From the shape and position of the seat and backrest, to the position of the pedals and steering wheel, it was all wrong for me. I was in serious pain after about 15 minutes driving that car, and I was a fit man at that time without any physical ailments.

I appreciate those old cars, happy to see them at car shows and cruise nights in original condition. Just don't ask me to "cruise" in an old T-Bird. That was a one-and-done experience for me.

We spent years working on the old stuff after detroit no longer made any real perfomance or desireable vehicles. The gas mileage and EPA pencil necks ruined that party.
You can have everyone of those old jack *** carts from the 50s and 60s, they are all terrible to drive compared to what we have now.

I don’t hate it. I don’t care for the wheels and think it would look much better with retro style wheels. The price paid was ridiculously high in my opinion. I don’t think it is worth much more than a comparable 2009 Corvette Convertible with similar miles and options. I would prefer having my current C6 purchase a nice driver C1 and keep $100k.
