Transprent roof panel making creaking sound
I have a 2006 with the transparent roof panel that makes a creaking sound when the car hits any bumps in the road. I am in the process, ordered, the front weather stripping, Part # 20774936 from GMPartsGiant.com for half the price that a GM dealership wants to charge. I am having an issue finding the rear weather stripping that has a part # of 19167780 but wherever I go it shows the part as discontinued. does anyone have any suggestions? thanks for your help in advance!

You may need new o-rings and coat them with dielectric grease, also torque the latch handles @13lbs and pins @ 16 lbs. Some members have used white lithium grease on the rear hatch handle.

Good morning: I have a new roof panel so I think the O rings and torque setting are OK. I do notice that when driving, I can feel some air coming through where the roof panel connects with the windshield frame. The front weatherstripping definitely needs replacing, 18 years old, but I'm not sure about the rear and I am having a tough time getting the rear weather stripping. any ideas on where to get the rear weatherstripping? I ordered the front roof weatherstripping from GMPartsGiant.com (20774936) for half the price ($488) it would cost getting it from a GM dealership.

That was a good video.
Just because it's a new panel doesn't mean that you shouldn't go ahead and check the torque. It's easy and free (unless you have to go buy a torque wrench).
These older cars, even if the weatherstripping isn't degraded from sun and weather damage, it can get compressed from years of having the top on. It's a little disappointing that some of these parts may now be NLA. Have you checked with any dismantlers?

Op ftravel, check with Melrose t-tops in Illinois as tops is all they do & probably can help you on the weather stripping.
