Default Stock nav head unit question

2008 base vette here. Got the car earlier this year and it came with an aftermarket head unit but the previous owner gave me the original head/nav unit with the map disks. I am probably never going to use this and need to know if I sell it, will whoever purchases it be able to use it plug and play or not? Thanks in advance.

They are not plug and play since they are VIN locked. You would need someone with a Tech II to reprogram it to the new car.

I believe if the potential person who maybe interested in buying it who's car didn’t originally didn’t have a nav system in it, they won’t have the GPS antenna already, and one will need to be added for that which wouldn’t be that difficult to do. Other than that it should just plug right in, but like VetteVinnie mentioned, it would need to be married to the car with a Tech2.
