I thought I'd share a useful idea I came up with for moving my Quickjacks around. Quickjacks are great but they are heavy and can be cumbersome to move where you want them. To make moving and storing the jacks easier, I bought a pair of inexpensive moving dollies from Harbor Freight. When I'm not using the jacks, I store them on the dollies out of the way. When I need them, I can easily roll them right over to the car.
As an added bonus, the dollies greatly simplify removing and installing the wheels on the car. With the moving dolly positioned under the tire, the Quickjack can be adjusted so the tire just touches and supports the tire when the lugs are removed. It is even better when reinstalling the wheel because you don't have to lift those huge, heavy tires and try to get them aligned properly with the wheel studs. Just position the tire on the dolly with the mounting holes aligned correctly with the studs and push it into place.
I use a motorcycle jack in conjunction with the Quickjack to remove the wheels. Lift the car to full height of the QJ and then position the motorcycle jack under the tire. It has 2 swivel casters and 2 rigid casters. Makes wheel removal pretty easy. I also use these stud extenders to guide the wheels on and off. Really helps on the wide rear wheels.
I like the idea of the dollies for the wheels, that’s a good tip
they are a little cumbersome to move around and that’s why I leave them in the center garage spot and I just park directly over them. I only have to move them a couple of feet out to the frame rails and up we go.
I have the 12 V DC version so that if I need to, I can put them in the pick up truck and use them at a remote location using just jumper cables to power them.
What a great idea! I have the hooks from quickjack to store them upright against the wall, but they're too damn heavy for that. I like this much better!
I am yet to do this, but the best QuickJack mod is adding these little roller ball caster wheels. I need to remember to pick some up next time I'm at HomeDepot.

You can also find them at Harbor Freight, for $2-3 each. I'm on my second set of QuickJacks, and I don't know why I waited so long to do this mod - makes it so much easier to position the jack under the car, which is not easy to do when your car is only a few inches off the ground!
