Default Auto Shipping

Hi Guys, I just bought a C6 that I have to it shipped. Has anyone had any experience with a car shipping company that you would recommend? I went online and there's a million companies but I'd like a company that someone has used and had a good experience. Thank you.

Absolutely! I have recommended Outlaw Flipz to a few people here. Outstanding people to deal with. They are not brokers! Give them a call.

I forgot to mention that I have used them twice, with stellar results.

A little more info would help. Shipping from point A to point B, do you wanna ship open or enclosed?

It's going from Florida to Jersey. Prefer enclosed but it's not necessary. Dealing with a reputable company, not a broker and having it arrive not damaged is my focus. Thanks

Call Scott Almquist at Outlaw Flipz. He's based in Pennsylvania.

I’ve been through the shipping company/broker ringer for the past week. I won the auction for a 2005 C6 manual on Cars & Bids, and had to get it shipped from upstate NY to LA. Given the length of the transport, and the nearly mint condition of the car, I wanted to be enclosed. I got many quotes that seemed too good to be true, and they were because they were quoting me without having a driver ready. I ended up going with Tertoro, and they’ve been very good. They picked the car up this morning, as they promised, in an enclosed trailer and even covered the car with plastic wrap. Total cost is $2,150. This was higher than other bids, but not by much, and they’ve delivered on their promises thus far. Should arrive Monday 7/15 and I can’t wait! Best of luck finding a good transport for your baby!

My brother ships his Aston Martin back and forth from Florida to Jersey regularly using an open carrier. He says it gets dirty but the guy he uses is extremely careful. I was ready to use his guy but he can't get the car until the 25th and I won't get it until the 1st. I don't want to wait that long. I prefer an enclosed semi carrier. I also got bombarded with quotes from brokers. I won't use someone who I don't know. My car is also mint and I want it to stay that way. Open transport is about a grand but I'm fine with spending more. I just contacted Intercity and Reliable to see what they charge. I'll call your guy too. Thank you.

Good luck with InterSh1tty. They will give you a a quote, but they will only schedule it if it is convenient for them. They don't care about the customer unless you are a Jay Leno type with millions of dollars. They jacked me around 5 years ago when I was trying to get a car shipped from PA to CA. They went around and around with excuses until finally the seller of the car needed to get the car out of his garage. He's the one that get me connected up with Scott Almquist. Scott got me my car in less than 2 weeks.

i bought my 08 through autotrader, while everything went rather smooth, the dealing w/ the transport company they use- was not ideal. it was a bit pricey, they had terrible communication, but did get to me 4 days, mine was an 1800 mile trek.
before i went w/ them, i contacted 3 companies based in IL- chicago area, all were cheaper, and those 3 companies called, emailed, texted me like crazy, for a week, so i wished i would have used one of them, but as i said, the final result was fine….

I'll give your guy a call. Although I'm not thrilled with the car in a small trailer vs. a semi. Thank you.

An open carrier from Florida to Jersey is about $900-1000. I'm perfectly fine with spending more on an enclosed carrier. I just want the right company so I feel comfortable.

I used PlyCar. Shipped a car from CA to NJ. It was a bit pricey but they did a good job. They also offered tracking through a link to see exactly where the car was and I could check its progress. I used them after calling a few other shipping companies only because they had a truck close by and could pick it up in a couple days. But no complaints.

Have you considered driving it home?
I used Reliable which is great but nowadays must be pricy.

I reached out to Reliable. They should contact me today. I'm too busy to fly down and drive it home. Thanks

Call Scott. Nothing wrong with a smaller (2 car) enclosed trailer.

Roll-n-Country Transport has shipped 2 Corvettes for me and I cannot recommend them highly enough. Enclosed trailer, takes a million pics before loading, very conscientious and straightforward to deal with. Great prices, too. Call Kevin 248-972-7833

I'll second a recommendation for Outlawflipz, Scott is excellent to deal with. Give him a call, he'll take care of your car like its his own. Lilcuda is who made the recommendation to use Scott when I shipped my C4 LT4 a year ago.

Update:
I want to thank everyone for their helpfulness and their opinions. I called or emailed everyone recommended by you fellas, Plycar, Reliable, Intercity and Tertuuro I sent emails that were not responded to. Left a message from Scott from Outlawflipz and he hasn't gotten back to me yet. Amerifreight sent me a quote and they called. The girl explained the entire process and gave me her direct number to communicate with. Everything was up front and open and she gave me a very good comfort level. I'll be using them for an enclosed carrier and the cost is $ 1300.00. They can pick up and deliver my car in a week.

Thanks for all your help and recommendations.

Congrats! That seems like an extremely fair price and timeline. Hope your car arrives soon and in pristine condition! Mine will be here Monday 7/15 if all goes well. Post pics when you get her!
