Default Front Splitter Cooling Affect

I have a 2005 Base Coupe. I am considering adding a aftermarket front splitter. Wondering if it will affect engine airflow cooling.

I don’t think it will affect anything. I have an 05 base, and I thought about getting one myself. I would think that if the aftermarket spoilers would cause that much of an issue, it would be a major topic by now. I always see base models with spoilers on them anymore. Granted, you probably won’t want to get one that’s a wacky shape and would block the inlet in between the fog lights or come down too close to the ground in front to prevent air from getting underneath the car at all. Other than that, I don’t see a problem. They put one on the ZR1 from the factory so…

It's a "Style" thing for all but 1% of real world application.

If you are concerned about air flow to your cooling system, make sure the low hanging rubber air dam is not distorted or missing, and there is no debris like a plastic bag for example, lodged up against the radiator.

Here is a very interesting story about debris affecting a car.
I change the air filter every 10,000 miles like clock work on our daily driver, a 2014 Altima. During a 10,000 mile period, I noticed the fuel economy being less than normal. When it came time to replace the air filter, I found stuck on it, a very old weathered extremely light weight celophane food wrapper of some kind plastered against it. It was so old, nearly all the outer color and silver inner foil had weathered away. It covered roughly 2/3 of the air filter. I know it was there a very long time because the air filter was almost like new behind that food wrapper. Needless to say, every time I replace the air filter now, I make sure the air filter housing has nothing foreign in it.

I think air dam on under side does more or compliments splitter. But they call it air dam for reasons.lol
