Shifter upgrades
“Once again” you choose which part you want to take offense to and roll with that instead of reading and comprehending the whole post.
Case in point, let that shift box sit a little more to the right, or left, or front in the bushing and see what happens. Have worn out bushings and see what happens. Have a worn out joint in the shift linkage and see what happens.
The tightness of the shifter mechanism does exacerbate these things though and and of the things mentioned above now make it tremendously worse than the stock sloppiness allowed.
Don't get pissed. I am just adding some color and comments from experience of actually dealing with these things. You dont have to agree. I am simply adding some missing context to the post so people making a decision can be fully aware of the upsides and downsides.
My experience was wholely chassis and alignment issues. The MGW just made it an issue as OEM slop never allowed the issues to be noticeable. YOU are saying that I am discounting YOUR experience. All I asked was if you raced or rowed gears as that is usually the crowd that dislikes the MGW and swaps for something else. I never discounted your experience other than asking that question. If the conversation heats up and goes further, that is on your side my friend.
Since you are sooooo wrapped up in what I owned, yes it was the same ****
