Default TPMS (again)

Seems like this subject should have been beaten to death by now but I'm confused by the shear number of replacement part numbers that seem nearly identical. I'm going to be putting new tires on my '13 GS in the spring and want to get new sensors installed at the same time. Rock Auto lists 4 different Schrader part numbers, they are all listed as fitting but some look physically different. The prices are almost identical. Which one is right or will they all work?

I would go to Schrader Website which has pretty good descriptions of the different sensors. Like exact fit OEM or universal application.

Site shows OE is 314.9MHz....not sure why rockauto is listing some 433MHz for your car.

My best guess is for the cars that are in overseas markets.

433MHz is for 09 and up cars. 315MHz is for 05-09 cars

Not so. Cars delivered to North American dealerships operate on 315Mhz. Export cars got 433Mhz. My ‘11 is 315Mhz, for example. True for the fobs and TPMS sensors.

I bought new sensors from an actual GM dealer. Heard stories of people buying cheaper on Amazon then the battery dying soon after. Did this back in 2020 when I bought new rims & tires for my GS. No issues 4 1/2 years later.

The OEM sensors are listed at ~$130+ each now, looking for a better option

Then what’s the difference between 05-09 cars and later years? I know the newer year sensors won’t work on my car and I assumed it was different MHz.

I believe there’s 3 different generations of sensors for the C6. You need to get the right generation for the year range and there’s not much overlap. I think the 2011 could use 2 different generations but that’s about it. They all use 315 MHz for North American cars. I don’t know why the different generations are not interchangeable. Communication protocol perhaps?

Has to be. The shop I used installed the wrong ones and they wouldn’t pair.

Appreciate the feedback -- the user who posted that picture also confirmed the smaller body versions worked w/o issues.

Two different generations for the C6 TPMS, being 2005 to 2009, and then 2010 to 2013.
The working frequency of the tpms is 315 for American cars ( and some export countries), while the 416 is the export of most export countries instead.

So in all, there are 4 different tmps for the C6.
So op need to to determine year of car for which year type, then if not an export model, will be the 315mhz ones. As for going to schrader web site, will have two choices of TPMS's for that range, being either pre-programmed, or ones that will need to be programmed once he get them.

What he needs, and are already programmed.
