Well figured screw went out and Updated Head Unit Firmware, I was 2 Versions behind but Current now.
I did not loose my Custom Boot Screen Updating Firmware, I kinda figured not , but one never knows.
I also attached a picture of the Custom Boot Screen, yes you can load picture files but that is only for Wall Paper and NOT BOOT SCREEN

No matter how I ask AI , it comes up that one CAN load a .bmp of choice for the boot-up screen . I don't trust AI to be spot-on all the time but once again , my curiosity is piqued . More digging ... PS . I didn't do the highlighting and couldn't figure out how to remove it .

AI OverviewYes, you can put a custom .bmp image on most Kenwood car screens for the boot-up/splash screen. It requires a FAT32-formatted USB drive, a .bmp image (typically

pixels, 16-bit or 24-bit color depending on the model), and often requires initiating a "standby" menu or specific button sequence (e.g., top-left corner twice) to trigger the import.
Key Requirements & Steps:
  • Image Format: The file must be a
    Code:
    .bmp
    (Bitmap) format.
  • Resolution: For most modern, high-resolution screens, this is 800 x 480 or 1280 x 720 pixels.
  • USB Setup: Use a USB drive formatted to FAT32.
  • Procedure:
    1. Place the
      Code:
      .bmp
file on the root of the USB drive (often named
      Code:
      image1.bmp
or placed in a specific folder, depending on the model).
    2. Put the Kenwood head unit into Standby mode.
    3. Go to the Settings menu and look for "Display" > "Customize" or a similar menu.
    4. Select "User Customize" to import the image from the USB.
    5. Some models require a secret sequence: Putting the unit in Standby, then tapping the top left, top left, bottom left, bottom left, top left, top left to open a special menu.
  • Alternative Method: For some models, it is simply Settings -> Display -> Startup Image -> Change.
