I’m looking for some input on the value and fair price for a 2011 C6 base (auto, chrome wheel upgrade from factory) 9K miles. It was owned by an older gentleman that kept it 100% of the time in a large garage with HVAC system running 100% of the time. It is 100% flawless and it has never seen a rain drop or wet road. Absolutely new showroom condition. All of the original paperwork and maintenance records are in pristine condition. The owner is asking 35K. I’m struggling a bit with it only being a base model. Thoughts????
Thanks. My mental challenge has been when I look it up on KBB, Autrotrader, etc and give it “excellent” condition it comes back with approx 30K price.
KBB values for Corvettes never match reality. They expect every vehicle to follow a standard depreciation curve. Works fine for a Camry, less so for specialty cars
I think 35K is a good price for that car. I don't like using KBB for a valuation on a Vette. Similar cars with higher milage seem to be selling for around 30K. Since this car really hasn't been driven much and kept in a personal showroom, I would not feel buyers remorse for an extra 5K that is a subjective number.
Did you see the 2012 that went for 330K, 10 times as much, this car you are asking about is a bargain!
It’s worth what someone is willing to pay. If it checks all your boxes and you feel like you got a good deal then you did..
No truer words were ever spoken and I have also said on this forum many times that value in anything is what someone is willing to pay. I have seen people walk away from a deal over a few thousand dollars when in reality they are never going to find another example of what they found. If this car checks all your boxes, is within budget than it's a win win for you and the seller. At the end of the day if you and the seller are happy it was a good deal.
Thanks and I agree with you.
I did see the 2012. It’s interesting that same year models more equipped with less mileage went for a fraction of the price.
If your looking for a low mileage base it sounds reasonable considering it’s know history.
You said you’re struggling with it being a base.
maybe you should look for something else then.

IMO, that's a good price for that low a mileage and you know the guy took care of it and didn't beat on it.
I have a 2012 base with only 3800 miles and pretty heavily modified and beat the **** out of it occasionally.
I have always been willing to pay a premium price for something i wanted and it was well taken care of. In 2015 i bought my 2008 3LT Z51 2 Top base car with 3800 miles from the Original owner. For 30k, back then prices were low. I never regretted my decision.
BTW, Not sure of the owner's driving habits or if the car sat for years without being driven at all, but there are things to watch out for. Obviously tire dry rot, but also the fuel system if gas sat in the car for year(s) without being driven, carbon buildup from driving only back and forth to Walmart, etc... My vette only gets driven 200 miles/year and some years not at all and it takes a little more attention under those conditions.
Not trying to be negative, these are good problems to have rather that dealing with a higher mileage car that requires periodic maintenance. Since you're a new member I don't know anything other than what you wrote in your 1st post.
Obliviously the last thing you want to do is buy the car and blow through the gears @ redline on the way home.
There are a great bunch of people here if you need advice. Good Luck
And check the date on the tires. If they're old it's a point of negotiation...
It really isn't. Nobody is going to take money off because the tires are too old for you. MAYBE if they were original 2011 tires, maybe. But probably not.
