Default window motor
help-the driver side window motor on my 08 has crapped out. i need to replace it. is there an aftermarket part that would work? Does anyone have one they would sell me? buying the whole motor/regulator from GM is almost $1000. I'm desparate!

You're going to have to bite the bullet. I recently had to replace mine. The part alone was nearly $900.

I agree. Just be 100 percent sure the motor is bad before you spring for a new regulator.

Good lord thats crazy expensive! My passenger window makes a screeching noise now and then when rolling up, is mine on the way out too?

You're not alone, I also have passenger window screeching, on and off for over year now, I live with it and hope for best.

For those with the screeching, try removing the door panel and spraying some lubricant. I used a silicone spray on the cable assembly and the screeching went away.

A shout out to to Fil on the forum, who saw my post about the window motor/reg. I swapped some cash for it this morning and its getting installed right now. Once again the forum is a life saver.
