Default 2007 Base Model C6

Was doing a simple oil change on my 07 C6 and found a half circle of plastic in my oil (imagine a crescent moon outline.) I popped off the drain plug and the first thing I saw hanging out was this circular plastic piece, upon grabbing to free it, I felt no resistance but it broke very easily as I was pulling it out, you know good ol brittle plastic. I am however able to piece it together exactly how it came out (see photo below), trying to figure out what this could be. Just rolled into 60k, have been doing every oil change on it since 40k and have never once gotten any metal or anything else but used oil coming out. I will say just recently I've started using the paddles within the last 2-3 days and not too aggressively, really just for downshifting at low rpms in higher gears. If anyone could give me any sort of idea of where to look it would help, planning to have my buddy who has his LS2 apart send me some good photos so I can potentially find where this would of came from. Thanks in advance, photos below. 0 codes as well

That looks like a broken part of the plastic locking ring from an oil container cap.... the part that's supposed to stay on the container when you twist the cap off. Sure looks like part of that lock ring broke off and fell in there when oil was being added.

see I thought that at first but I been using mobil1 for 20k or so now so the ring would be grey/silver or at least It should be unless somehow it got dyed by the oil. Checked all my caps as well to see if any thing may of sheered off. Thanks for the idea though

In your first picture, it sure looks like the piece has some grey spots to me.

It’s either that or the timing chain guide coming apart.

think its just how photo appears, have looked under light and tried brake cleaning one piece and same color, even in between is black so can't be from the mobil1, maybe a past oil change and its just finally now making its way out, not sure
