I’m having a problem. Everytime I wash my C6
(2006) or if it rains hard, something is getting wet. It shows a negative temp on the a/c and won’t let the a/c come on until it dry out. Usually takes about 15-20 minutes of driving, HELP?
This happened on my Vette and would affect the a/c and the defroster operation as well, in my case turned out the temperature sensor located along side the radiator was shorted out, also i believe when the radiator was replaced on my car they broke the sensor.

The ambient temp sensor is a 2 wire thermistor and if you see a negative temperature that to me indicates an open circuit…if you were to short the 2 wires together the temp reading would max out.
Un-clip the temp sensor connector, clean the connector and sensor pins with spray electrical cleaner, the slightly on the top and connector, and more on the sides of the connector where it should have it rubber water seal piece, dielectric grease. If water seal rubbing piece is missing on connector, may be able to buy another once, but in the mean time, lean heaver on the dielectric grease there to try to make a temp seal in the mean time.
If that does not solve the wet problem, the would start by just replacing the outside temp sensor to start with if does not ohm out correctly or looks to be cracked (gm gm 10248414) and then start checking it wiring back next for problems.
