Hi from Norway, I have a 08 Z06 with some frustrating driver door window issues I was hoping that you guys could help me solve..
I'll try to make it as short as possible. Started when I noticed my driver door window moved up and down when I closed the door, wouldn't stop until I locked it
Have swapped the driver door control module (as everyone pointed to that as the issue at first), problem seemed to be resolved but started again after the car has been sitting for a while. Stored inside in a shared garage. Diagnosed again, no clear faults showing except the window pulse went on and off. Heard the inside door opener switch might cause this, tried swapping them without any change.. Really do not know where to look now, any experiences and advice would be highly appreciated

So did you switch the OUTSIDE door opening pad/switch? If at first it resolved the problem but then started again after sitting, I would still guess it’s something to do with the outside door pad.... Did you look closely at the wiring? Just asking because as you say this really should be a simple fix.....

I have not checked the outside opening pads yet, only those inside. Everything opens as normal, and wiring seems undamaged and fine
I did also source the module/window motor part and tried changing that. That was when I thought the issue went away, but it re occurred unfortunately
Think your issue is the door latch actuator. It's located in the rear door jab. It is what the striker latches onto. If the window is indexing up and down on it's own, it's because the actuator is not communicating to the RCDL that the door is closed. I am not sure if you can test this part with a meter but maybe some knows if it can be done.
Thanks for the input, that could very well be the case. We actually thought about swapping the one from the passenger side, that has no issues, to see if it cures the issue on the driver door? Not sure they are the same though..

Oh right.. Then I'll just have to try and get a new one then. Hopefully they are not as hard to come by as the driver door module, I was lucky to find one in Norway even.
Hi there,
It's very likely the door latch inside the door jamb. Easy fix, just some patience and a small torx driver. Getting the lower sills off with out breaking them can be tricky, use the right tools and it will be fine and take your time. There are several videos on Youtube. When you re-install the new part it is a bit fiddly, but not that hard. I did mine in 15 minutes. Good luck!
Just so that I fully understand this, which of these do you believe to cause the issue, the opener part on the actual door, or the receiver in the door opening? Just so that nothing gets "lost in translation" 😅
The upper picture, the part in the jamb. The lower pic is the touch pad and the latch itself. The latch itself usually never goes bad. If the touch pad is acting up it will not release the latch and the door won't open. The link I send has the manual release handle with the cables, you need just the actuator itself (pic below) and when it's replaced just disconnect you cables and reconnect them to new actuator. You can get cheap Chinese replacements from Amazon but those are a crapshoot on whether they work and for how long. I purchased mine off E-Bay from a guy who rebuilds the factory modules and offers a lifetime warranty. Not sure if you can get this shipped to Norway.
BTW if your touch pad acts up you can remove it and take it apart and clean the contact pad with contact cleaner and some 000 steel wool. Even if it isn't acting up If you clean it you will be surprised at how easy it is to open the door.
The touch pads are interchangeable so if you suspect the driver door pad, swap it with the passenger door pad, assuming that one doesn’t have a problem.

Hi guys, a update, I ordered and changed the door actuator, unfortunately the issue is still there 😡
I will try the door opener pad change to see if it cures the issue, but somehow I doubt it will
I'm fearing that it will all come back to the driver door module, part number 22895755, which is not avaliable anymore from GM unfortunately. As mentioned I did manage to get hold of a used one, changed it and the issue went away for while.
As these are almost impossible to find in any condition, do you guys know if any company are offering these as rebuild or something like the actuator? Or know somebody that had one and are willing to ship it to Norway?
Thanks in advance, I'm getting really frustrated 😤
I went back and read your original post a few times. Just wondering if the window behaves differently if you are in or out of the car when you close the door. I did get the part about when you lock the door the window stops indexing. And when the indexing stops, is the window up all the way, or indexed down?

Thanks for replying. When the indexing stops, the window moves to the top. Not sure how to explain this, but when it does close, it twitches and moves in small steps before it stops. That is the same whether I'm inside or outside. But after changing the actuator it also changes behaviour a bit.. I noticed that sometimes, when sitting inside and operating the window and door to test, the door could actually not be opened.. It's a total mystery to me, and so frustrating.. And to add, at first when I reconnected the wiring to the new actuator, the window went up once and stopped as it should.. But once all was mounted together and I closed the door, the same error occurred.. 😡
