I like black but with a polished lip. I crack up everytime I see the OPs car. That shine is ridiculous. That depth like I mentioned before is just absurd!!! I gotta try the stuff you told me about.
Thanks!
Mine is garage kept and driven only in good weather so the Zaino holds up well. The depth to Zaino is some of the best. While it is not as long lasting as ceramic coating. For a non-daily driver, garage kept, the Zaino is the better product as it will produce a deeper and better shine than ceramic coating. Maybe every 6-8 months, I do a few coats of Zaino and it's good to go. The in-between drive times, I use the Zaino detail spray to keep it clean. ALWAYS, use a high quality towel. A poor quality towel can introduce micro scratches into the paint.
I never liked the black wheel look until I got my C6 with black wheels…You really should do the halo and roof black, that alone really updates the look as well. Check out mine with the red and black theme… Blacked out halo
IMHO only certain car colors look good with black wheels
I'm not a fan of black wheels on certain cars depending on the color of the car. Yellow and black are a good match. Some cars look better with chrome wheels......I happen to think that the black chrome wheels on my car make the color pop. C7 wheels in Black Chrome

Looks great!
The black chrome on blue looks great. Its shiny but not too shiny.
Damn I hate how every wheel thread turns into "I like chrome better". We get it, some of you like chrome wheels. Why do you "chrome lovers" lol, insist on posting your cars in other people's thread? Who cares, you have chrome wheels.
Let the OP brag on his car a little without ruining his thread.

AGREE!
I've been on this forum for almost 10 years now. Dozens and dozens of threads about wheel finish and always turns out the same. Posers are posers and come out of the woodwork at any opportunity.
And OP - Your new look is GREAT! Just recently did a similar look to my car.
The chrome rims were okay and didn't look "bad" but they did make the car look more dated. Chrome looks great on older classics (60's - 90s). No modern sports car offers them anymore and so the gloss black look helps bring the C6 into the 2020s era. The competition yellow C8 has the yellow and gloss black look going so that is kind of the theme I was going for.
Like stated, tastes might differ and the chrome rim was OEM but GM did offer the gloss black OEM rim in 2013 and so the gloss black rim color is OEM option for that year.
Obviously there are many other choices than pure black rims without going to super shiny chrome imo. I’m not a big fan of the high chrome super bling wheels either. Just personal preference like everything in life. What goes around seems to come back around in a few years sort of like with wide and narrow ties. lol I had the wheels pictured made to my own specifications and color. I’m sure some like and some do not like them. I think look pretty good which is all that really matters imo.

Mine sits in the garage and isn't a DD so Im with you on the ceramic. Ceramkc doesn't give you that depth like you have. Plus i like waxing. I forgot what products you use again? Im gonna order it. I have a bunch but Im always down to try more stuff

She is daily driven and I think the depth of shine is pretty outstanding. The best part is how simple, quick, and easy the product is to use. She's not freshly washed or waxed, but I think the shine holds up.
Certainly the debate will continue about chrome versus other wheel finishes. I am in the camp of going with the wheel that fits the car. The type and color of wheel you select should fit the overall look and enhance it. Back in the 80's I had a Buick Gran National. It was one of the first cars I remember that went with the blacked out look, it really changed the look of the Regal body style. The OEM car makers tend to overdo the themes, whether it be chrome or blacked out. To me the blacked out theme is over saturated on cars today, at other times it is too much chrome.
For me, the Grand Sport chrome wheels really caught my eye on the first ones I ever saw. I still think they are some of the best looking OEM wheels. But it depends on how the setup of your car is. On some vets, depending on the rest of the car, a blacked out rim looks great while on others, chrome gives it an extra pop. The type and style of wheel really does enhance the look of your car, select it wisely and you will never be disappointed no matter the finish. I like them all.

Looks great but again no where close to what the OP has. Ceramic will never give you that ridiculous shine he has. There are pros and cons to both.
Wow, this looks awesome! Yellow and black is a great combo.
Agree. While I do like black wheels on a few select colors, I think black wheels with yellow looks great! I liked it with chrome too, but it looks really good with black. OP, your car looks great!

Agreed, OP didn't ask peoples opinions on chrome wheels, he's posting his choice. Start your own thread if you want to debate chrome vs black.
