Ok, I’ve ordered “Domed GM approved lettering” for my Dash. From two different companies (That wound up being the same-Southern Car Parts & RPI) southern car parts sent me just a flat peel off type lettering, and when I went to RPI to get the “Domed” I received the peel off letters again!!! Beyond frustrating.
Do any of you know where I can get the actual domed lettering?
I didn’t use adhesion promoter on mine, but I cleaned really good with alcohol first.
i wouldn’t say I trust wiping them off or near them with a wrag or anything, but they have not pulled up in the few years I had them on.
i wish I had the GM domed ones though. Yellow doesn’t exist anymore. Only a few select colors
Or you can buy a $6 can of paint spray, spray it into a small cup, and use a fine tip art paint brush, and slowly color it in. Might take you an hour or so...
What did you use? I’m getting the “Domed” lettering.
I did this several years ago and forgot what adhesive I used, but I would not recommend it anyway.
I spent hours trying to get the residue off from around the edges. You can see, some of it is still there.
The lettering was the soft kind that wiggles around when trying to place it. If I did it over, I would get the solid plastic, easier to get on.

Looks great! I finally ordered Chrome Domed Plastic lettering, or I’d give your method a shot
Another issue, I believe, is that these are "leftovers" from when they ran production runs when the C6 was newer and more popular. So they have been sitting for years, making the adhesive less sticky.
If you end up doing the paint brush method. Keep a microfiber cloth with some alcohol on tap in case you need to clean up any spots you go over.A $5 set of fine tipped art brushed at WalMart will do the trick. It requires a fine hand to brush it on so hopefully you did good in art calls while in school
