Default Please recommend a cover

I have decided to keep my Vette and will be storing it for the winter. I need to get a cover. It will be stored outside sometimes.

It has Z06 quarter panels so I would need the Z06/Grand Sport cover.

Thanks!

I would strongly recommend you store it in a garage and use a flannel cover

Like this?

They make car covers for indoor and outdoor. I would not suggest using moving blankets, but that's me. LMFAO.

(that isn't Snappahead car by the way)

Older cars just don't hold up outside. Cover or not.

I am sure there will be many responses with recommendations so I will throw mine in the mix. I keep my C6 in the driveway from early spring until early winter. I found this cover on Amazon and have been very pleased with it

Waterproof Car Covers Replace for 2005–2013 Corvette C6, 6 Layers All Weather Custom-fit Car Cover with Zipper Door for Snow Rain Dust Hail Protection (C6) https://a.co/d/b2tn8LH

i am at the end of it’s second year and it has not let me down. I was so impressed after the first year that I bought a second one just to have on hand. The fit and protection are good but the price is unbelievable. I just grabbed the link on Amazon and it’s selling for $75 USD. I am sure that there are better ones out there but for the price you could probably replace it every year and still be ahead of the game.

Good luck in your search and please let us know what you end up buying.

i will try and grab a picture and upload it later today.

I'm in the market and bumped into this trhrewad. Thanks. You just saved me huinting. I have an old Covercraft (circa 2007) that I covered my C5 with. I tested it on my C6 and it fits but it lets moisture in with just a little rain. I think it's had its day and is getting retired. I'll get the one you referenced. The price on the Covercraft replacement is now $275- $400+. Don't think so...

Just ordered an outdoor car cover from Carcover.com. for a Dodge Charger. $172.00 shipped, lifetime warranty, weatherproof, custom fitted with wind straps and clasps. Sorry charger, the vette stays inside. I'll let you know the quality when I receive.

Steve, unless you are looking for something that is skin tight you may want to ask the seller a question on Amazon about Grand Sport/Z06 specifics. I uploaded a picture and as you can see there is some extra room. While I cannot speak to the fitment for you the seller may be able to help. Best of luck!!!!

If you're going to have it outside I wouldn't recommend a thin stretchy type cover. No real protection from things like critters walking on it like cats, etc. I'd recommend as heavy a cover as you can find. I've found covers for my Vette and truck at "sealskin covers". The are lots of other companies. I think any C6 cover will work for you and you don't have to worry about your exact car specs. Here's a link to sealskins. https://sealskincovers.com

Agreed…. Seal skin has many nice products. They also make awesome seat covers. 👍

Well the cover has been on for a week now and I have two things to report:
1. The bungee cords have no elasticity left in them.
2. The nylon webbing to secure the cover from side to side has torn in half.
But the actual cover itself is heavy -duty material, no complaints there.

Oh and I live in the windiest city in America, so there is that. I can't get more than a year out of flying an America flag.

I originally thought you said Covercraft but was mistaken. I'm taking back my like.

Covercraft should have been your choice.

You’ll want a Z06/Grand Sport–specific cover that’s weather-resistant and breathable for outdoor storage. Look for one with a soft inner lining to protect the paint and secure straps to keep it in place. Brands like Covercraft or WeatherTech make good options for your Vette.
