I do believe it is a clone after all. Here are a couple pictures to show.

Being it is a clone my offer of $500 is retracted. I can now offer $150 for the clone.

Be aware that a clone Tech 2 can no longer be used for SPS programming. They (GM) are able to detect that it's a clone and block you even if you pay for 2 day subscription. You will not get a refund on the subscription fee.

The clone Tech 2 can still be used for on car diagnostics or programming of 2007 and earlier cars if you have the required software/disc.

really good information here. I had planned on using sps for programming/updating modules in the car.

Here is a screen shot of the warning at the top of the page.

Also included is a couple of pictures of my genuine Tech 2. Notice the ink stamping on the inside of the door. On the opposite inner wall is a label.

I believe SPS doesn't allow ANY Tech2 usage for programming anymore, so it just won't work whether you have an original or clone unit. They want everybody to use the MDI now, and they do advise against using clone MDI devices for SPS programming.

I believe you need to use a tech 2 emulator when using mdi. Looks like it might be an additional software needed for the emulator also.

Clones can no longer be used for SPS programming. GM has the ability to detect them now if you try to use it for online programming.

Also, clones are hit and miss with durability. You take your chances.
