So I've have been having issues with FOB #1 and ended up buying a new FOB#1 that I paired with the key in the trunk. The new FOB#1 works fine and the old FOB#2 works too.
However, the new FOB#1 is in slot 3 and I have to press on button 1 when I get in the car which is frustrating. I do have the Tech2, can I program the new FOB#1 into slot #1 and remove it from slot #3?
Someone will correct me if I am wrong but pretty sure you have to wipe them all out and start from scratch in programming.
Correct. To program a new FOB#1 you would need to wipe out the memory and start from scratch. The FOBs are all the same. The different part numbers simply distinguish the actual number printed on the FOB ( #1 or #2). The electronics inside are exactly the same. Your C6 uses the next number available when programming a new FOB. In your case it was 3.
Pretty sure @Dano523 posted the Tech2 steps a few times. I think you can use it to program any compatible fob directly into any one of the 4 available slots. Hopefully he’ll chime in with more info.
Yup, with Tech2 Have original Key and Replacement key wipe out the Slot1 and Program Slot1, otherwise one needs to wipe out all slots and start from scratch.
