Hi guys, please point me in a direction if I overlooked a useful thread. I’m having the dreaded door wont open issue on my drivers side. Saw a bunch of threads in regards to replacing the actuator, swapping interior buttons and cleaning the exterior contact pad. The issue I’m having is interior only. Exterior is great, new actuator is installed, swapped button from the passenger side with no luck, opens fine with the emergency latch and indexes every time when interior button is pressed.
Im looking for info on finding the electrical gremlin for the interior button. Like I said, when the button is pressed the window indexes, the latch just doesn’t open. If anyone has pictures or can explain what to look for/fix that would be awesome. I’m decently mechanically inclined, but a complete buffoon when it comes to electrical and wiring. Saw a million videos about the exterior connection cleaning and I’m assuming there is something similar for the interior button but am unsure what to look for. I popped the door panel off and made sure all of the snap connections were in good shape and looked for any obvious damaged wiring. Reading a wiring diagram feels like staring at mandarin so I’d really really appreciate if someone has had the same issue with the interior button and could share a video or picture. I’m guessing if I backtracked the cable from the actuator that doesn’t link to the emergency latch it goes somewhere that I probably have corrosion issues, but was unable to track things that far this morning. Pics for reference of what I’m working with and where I’ve been so far. Thanks a million for any advice that a caveman like myself can follow!
Might be as simple as [a] wire comig loose, or, frayed.
In either event panel needs to be removed for inspection.
Betting sourse of issue reveals itself.
If the window indexes down when you press the button, then the only explanation I can think of is the actuator is defective. You said you replaced it.
I just went through this with the passenger door, but the door would not open at times from inside or outside. The window would just index.
I replaced the actuator and all was good. Much quicker too.
When you press the button on the inside, do you hear the actuator? You should.
Best guess with something this trivial is to disconnect the battery for 10 minutes and let the modules reset and see if things get fixed.

I was hoping actuator as well. I’ve got the battery unplugged as we speak so fingers crossed. But no, I’m not hearing anything from the actuator like it’s even trying so I’m afraid I’m losing signal somewhere between the button and the actuator

But you're saying it works from the outside?
Sounds strange to be the actuator if it works from outside but not inside.
Guess it could be a wiring issue but where the window is indexing inside or out, and it works from the outside, I'm hard pressed to come up with where it could be an issue

Ya it’s perfect from the outside every time. Was hoping there would be a similar contact situation for the interior too but couldn’t find anything off the bat. I’m tempted to drop in a new wiring harness for the door atp. Looks like a replacement is about $60 so might be easier than trying to chase down the issue?
If you are clueless when it comes to electrical just take your car to an auto electric shop...you will waste time and money changing parts and disconnecting and reconnecting connectors !!...having a factory level scan tool will at least tell you if you have an "input" problem like the switch or an "output" problem like wiring or an actuator.

Any idea if I should brace my wallet for impact? I only have 10k in the car and grew up on Miata’s so I’ve never really had to go to a shop or spend much to fix anything and heard nothing but horror stories about the dealership pulling prices out of thin air. I’m very much living the poor man’s corvette fantasy rn haha
