07 Z06 burning
I have a 07 Z06 that’s heavily modified. Car never runs hot, and is extremely healthy. This wire has been burning from the headers. Does anyone know what this wire is from looking at it? From the quick glance I took it might be going to the abs but that’s a shot in the dark.
Taking it apart some time next week when I have time but just for peace of mind to sleep at night.
Thanks
Is this why my clutch only comes up halfway sometimes on hard pulls? I can put it back all the way up and it’s fine after just feels a little spongier
More likely you need to change your clutch master cylinder to the updated part. GM made a revised master cylinder to address that problem. You can tell if you have the old master by looking at the reservoir. If it is white, it is the old part. The new part has a black reservoir. https://www.summitracing.com/parts/ado-19432063
As for the braided line, best thing to do is get a length of heat shield sleeve to protect it: DEI Line Sleeving.

Probably isn't helping.

If that clutch slave cylinder line starts leaking, you're going to have a real fire. Best to take care of that before driving the car again.
Nothing against you: you just care more than I do, I care more about driving it.
it would be best to fix asap before I drive it but I unfortunately don’t have time asap
I’m sure they’re made to be located there and handle heat, should handle a few days ok. It’s too fun not to drive!

Clutch fluid, which is brake fluid, has burned down more than a few cars when it hits headers as it instantly ignites. Yours already shows significant damage. It's your car, and your life. My *** sure wouldn't be driving around in a car that could catch fire at any time, but that decision is on you.

I get the "I want to drive now!" but what you do effects others. (I'm sure you have family and friends that care about you)
I would also wrap that header. That's a ton of heat coming off it to burn up all that thermal wrap next to it.
yes, I loved it further away and put some heat tape around it for the weekend before I take it apart. I didn’t just drive it the way it was. Wrapping the headers when I get different ones to help the heat
