What type of dash cams are you all using. I'm trying to decide which type to purchase (hopefully one that is low profile) , but more importantly, the best place to install it? behind the rear view mirror, on the passenger side in place of the ON STAR antenna, or elsewhere?
Pics of the install would be great
Thanks
I installed a Kenwood DRV-A310WDP camera last year and it paid for itself after I was hit a month after the install. The forward camera is behind the rear view mirror, and the rear camera, since I have a vert, is mounted to the trim above the rear view mirror and just to the side of it. No pics, but the install done by the shop I bought it from was very clean. You download the footage via an app to your phone. You can also choose to remove speed indicator and other things of that sort if you choose to when you do the download so you don't show more than you want to.
I bought a RedTiger F7N TOUCH about 6 weeks ago to put in my 2020 Nissan truck. Pretty small camera and install was easy. Front had about a 170 degree view angle, which was the widest one I could find. Rear was about 140, so coverage was great. Night vision is outstanding and quality of the recording is perfect. And Like Ed above, it paid for itself the first week I had it. Lady runs a stop sign, I T-bone her and now I am looking for a new truck. I always thought that they were just a cute toy to have, but now I am going to get one for each of the other cars in the fleet. Including my 2012 C6.
Oh, P.S.... After I reported it to the insurance company, along with the accident report, I discover from her insurance company that her policy had lapsed 3 days before the crash. Now I know why there is such a thing as uninsured motorist insurance.

Sorry to hear about both you and Ed's ordeal. Luckily you guys hsad the dash cam installed.
Thanks so far for the responses. I would like if some of you could snap a pic of the location that you placed the particular dash cam that you all have.
That will be very useful as to what type I purchase for my C6.
