Then fine, that's why it would only be an option. I
like it and would pay for it. And I DO consider it a safety option! Think about this; you're on vacation out of state. You run out of gas and not really sure were you are. Or better yet, get in an accident (or see one), the NAV would sure be good to have then. A cell phone is useless if you're not sure where you're at.
Nothin' ... but MAP's only show you where roads are, not where you are. Some of us have had trouble finding roads at night when poorly marked and unlighted in unfamilair areas .. others I guess, are much better at this.
Seriously, a nav system is fine, as long as it's not intrusive and it has physical buttons to operate it. Touch screens require sight to operate; drivers operate controls by feel alone. It's especially important that it doesn't Borg the rest of the controls -- leave my audio and HVAC alone.

I totally agree with you. If people want to buy it they should be able to. But, if GM cannot design it so you don't need to pull off the road to use it - or even more importantly - so that it does not interfear with the eyes-on-the-road operation of the sound and HVAC systems, then it does not belong in ANY car, much less a Vette.
