It's funny how anybody else in town would be satisfied to have a C6 Corvette Coupe. But I have have to be particular about the kind of Corvette. I should be happy with any of them!
Alpha - As technology advances it gets cheaper. What earth shattering technology are we expecting from the C6 that the C5 doesn't have that will cost a 15K premium over todays base???? PLEASE
I would not argue one bit about A 15K jump in base price if the body panels were made of carbon fiber or some other exotic materials over the C5 were used. However, electronics exponentially get better and exponentially get cheaper faster, so if the base price jumps more than 2% over the current model than it is simply GM's greed and THAT alone will keep ME from buying another GM product after owning nothing but GM vehicles for a LONG LONG LONG LONG time!
A C6 will cost $60,000.
A C6 will cost well under $50,000.
Depends on how you define "cost" and how you define "C6."
But GM will keep C6 base price within a couple thousand of C5 base price. Anything more is economic suicide. The economy isn't that strong, and GM can ill afford to fall far shy of 30,000 units per year.
How far the options reach is another matter.
As for the "well, when you add tax and license" comments -- nobody compares car prices that way. Why don't we add a year's maintenance costs while we're at it?

Do you have comprehension issues? Who said anybody was comparing car prices with tax included? I was simply making a point that a loaded C6 will be around $52K and with tax, title, license will be staring at $60K.
