Interior door handles

It also appears that the driver and passenger door pulls are totally different. The passenger pull extends up into the door panel with the switch at the top and the drivers is down low with the switch being thumb activated.
In case of a total battery failure while in the car, I wonder how they handle a manual release of the door switch?

Ahhh...that makes sense. But doesn't it appear that the door release push buttons are in different locations? Drivers low and passengers high.

I do know, however, that there is a mechanical backup for all ways in and out of the car.

(No, I don't think the doors have sensors and builtin brakes with artificial intelligense that stops the passenger from doing stupid things with the door...)

The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts
Honestly, at the resolution those pictures are, I have no idea what those are. I can't tell if they're buttons or if they're window switches. Of course, buttons would make more sense. But who knows?

This thread is one of the most worthwhile ones that I've seen in here in a while - except for the new pictures being posted.
We need more threads like this! I greatly appreciate your thoughts and ideas on the C6!
Scissors, I think the window switches might be further down on the door armrest - they look like pull/push-switches, like on Hondas or Acuras. Interesting that they don't look like the "membrane" switches of the C5 - wonder if it is even less prone to window leaks?
(Caveat - I've only had leaks during high-powered touchless car washes...the targa roof has been extremely leak-proof.) Most of the leaks I have seen came from the front of the side windows.
Of course, very hard to tell with this resolution picture, as you mentioned. Can't wait to see the real thing in person!

One more observation. There is body colored Corvette script on the door sill protectors. Nice touch.

Imagine seeing that in the manual, "In the event your 2005 Corvette has a battery failure, cross your fingers, say a prayer and kiss your a-- goodbye!"

The piece around the button must be some of the anodized aluminum trim on the door they talk about.

That's not the door pull, that's the passenger grab handle, which used to be on the dash in the C5. The passenger door pull is down lower, in the same location that it is on the driver's door.

I'm also fascinated by the other posts that suggested a "psuedo suede" material for the dash. I like the VW interiors - wonder if it will be like them.
Can't wait to see a C6 in person! :D

I can't remember a Corvette in past years that used a different style door panel for driver and passenger. But it does look sweet. :yesnod:
