1. A red LED on the left which I am guessing is "Keyfob present"
2. 3 or 4 LED segments that must sequentially turn on as the car starts.
3. A yellow accessory mode LED.
So how's it work? Get in with the fob in your pocket and hold down the gray thing and watch the green LEDs light up in order until the last one starts the car? Hold it down to light up only 1 or 2 segments to put it into "on" mode, but not start the engine? Tap it only once to go into accessory mode?

From what I remember when I started an XLR:
Start the car by pushing the center button at the top.
Put in ACC mode by pushing the bottom right.
Turn car off by pushing the bottom left (same as removing key on traditional cars)
No need to hold down, it was instantaneous. Don't have to insert key either.

Ok thanks, that makes more sense I guess. I forgot all about turning the damn thing off. So is there no "on" mode anymore (not ACC mode) where you can have all lights/accessories/fans/etc going without the engine running? That could prove interesting.

I don't recall an "ON" mode. Maybe the ACC is 2 stage; one for ACC and one for ON. The start button could be 2 stage as well (ON and START). It's been so long, I can't recall those smaller details.
I just hope u dont hit the button off while driving
If you're serious, I hope you know that it is electric, therefore they can program it so that once the car is on and in gear, the off button is disabled. Great system, it's similar in my CLK55. Several times, I've gone and tried to turn the car on when it was already on, and it doesn't grind the alternator, because it's electric. One of the coolest things about the car, besides the 5.5L 362hp V-8. :chevy

I hope none of us get a stuck throttle and broken clutch pedal one day.
That would be cool, but several other sportscars already have that, and I think Chevy wanted to have their own distinctive keyless start system. I'm glad they put the money into somethin of their own, so we didn't have to hear all the meaningless threads about chevy copying other car companies again. :chevy
