Default A different perspective

I, like many of you, have all kinds of questions about the new C6.

But I wonder how many of the little things we are worrying about, like door handles and such, are pretty well tested with the mules?

For instance, if the door handles were actually terrible to use for some reason, wouldn't the test drivers have discovered this by now?

My gut feeling is that many of the ergonomic and smaller things we are worrying about have been road tested and hopefully checked out ok, or were changed...

Any thoughts?

Nearly 200K on two C5's and haven't seen that problem or in fact talked to a live person that has had the problem. I'm sure it's out there but out of 30K plus cars on the road is it realy that big a problem. Before you flame, post the substansiated numbers.

I dont think Grumpy was flaming at all. When its your car that has the problem, who really cares about substantiated numbers.

I had both the column lock and the rocking seat problem. Call me if you wan't to talk to a real live Vette owner who's had these problems. It's not a conspiracy...these are real faults that many of us experienced. Don't just dismiss it because you have been fortunate

I have had rocking seat on both of my cars (2000 coupe/2002Z06) and one of my best friends has had column lock on both of his (2000 coupe/2002Z06)... go figure. I'm glad I got the seat!

Seat of both my C5's have been rockers. Guess what, the Dealer said "they all do that".

I bought my '00 used last summer (22K miles). I drove the car home from the store (less than 5 miles). When I got back to the car, the column lock problem occurred. I didn't even own the car for an hour before running into that dreaded problem :banghead: I bought the car on June 26th, and the warranty for the column lock recall expired on July 1, 2003, so I was lucky enough to get it fixed free of charge, although it meant 4 days without my newly purchased car...

I also have the rocking seat problem, and that's something I have to live with since the warranty is expired. This is quite annoying and is something I really hope that they have found a permanent fix for in the C6!

:iagree: The same goes for the clear coat on the transparent top that sooner or later will start pealing on the passenger side... Another of those problems that hopefully are properly addressed in the C6...
