Spoke to my dealer today - Richard Hibbard Chevrolet in Claremont, CA (sold 450 Vettes last year, very good allocation) they only got 2 orders pulled for the initial delivery today. They had 3 pulled for the second week of production. Looks like GM went went with allocation similar to the 50th Anniversary (one Vette for each dealership up front). Hibbard was expecting 20 Vettes on the first pull for the July 19 week of production. Definetly got screwed. Anyone o out there disappointed with the General?

I imagine it is very difficult to figure out who gets what as far as allocation. I am 7th at the same dealership as Pat and I bet I don't get my car until late fall/early winter.
I rather be 7th of 450 than 7th of 20ish like I am ROFL.
Thanks for the post Pat, and GREAT taste! I am thinking of pretty much the same combo.
Nobody knows yet. Pricing will be announced "sometime later in June"
I am with the same dealer as Pat and I was assured by the Sales Manager I would pay no more than MSRP plus TTL.
I have read some places that the price increase will be modest. But options have changed (Z51) from the C5. I am looking to pay $54-$55K out the door for about the same setup as Pat is getting.
My dealer called and said that he has an allocation and it is mine. He didn't seem to be able to deternine if my order had been place against it. He thought is may be next Tuesday. But he did say he has a confirmed allocation.
Now, I have to ask, what would they base 40 cars in the first week on? They do 450 a year, which translates to 9 per week. Cut that in half for slow start-up, and you are at 4 per week. Less is disappointing, but hardly getting screwed. I think they are dreaming in technicolor to think 40 in a month, let alone a week!
Hibbard Chevrolet has a good reputation. I ordered my C6 Vert (manual top)
from Team Chevrolet in Pasadena Bert Dragotis, head of fleet dept is great to work with. (my 3rd vette from him) My order was placed with the factory on June 4, the first one from Team. No one knows what the TPW will be, but at least my order was #1, and Bert will never charge over sticker for any vette. Anyone in the so Calif area whom needs help with a C6, feel free to call Bert and mention Ron with Red Line Corvettes referred you.
I work in sales at the biggest corvette dealer in Canada, Wilson Niblett in richmond Hill Ontario, and while we don't do the kind of numbers the big US dealers do, we are about 7-8% of total Canadian sales. We will be getting 2 a week once things get going full out, and 1 a week right out of the gate. Dealers that over promise are out of their minds, as I am sure Rick would agree, if you are a Corvette dealer, it is a small community, and word travels fast if you are letting people down. we have a bout 1/3 of our allocation presold, and are cautioning people to not expect delivery for a few months, just to be safe. Tell a guy December and get it to him in November, you are a hero. Tell a guy November and get it to him in January, and you are living with an unhappy customer for two months!
Hibbard Chevrolet is an EXCELLENT dealership - they have no control over rate of production. At this point, it is just a matter of playing the waiting game and hope the factory gets to full production as soon as possible. Congratulations to those of you getting them early. :flag
Don't misunderstand, I am not trying to knock Hibbard.
I only point out that they may be a little optimistic on their allocation numbers, based on past sales. It has nothing to do with rate of production, only rate of sale. 40 cars in the first week is ludicrous, that would equate to almost 2000 cars in a 48 week production year! 4x their sales rate. for an itial production year, which is always slow, that is a tad optimistic, I suggest.
