Has anyone here seen a C6 & C5 side by side in the flesh, and as such been able to compare the two.
It's just that in my opinion the C6 looks smaller, and may have lost the C5's dramatic look.
The C6 may have been designed to appeal to more Euro customers and hence the size reduced, but many Euro customers myself included have purchased Corvettes for the fact that they look American and are big and impressive to look at, as well as great to drive.
If someone has seen both what conclusions about the new vehicle have you come too.
I have seen a C5 & C6 together and the one thing that I really noticed is that the overhangs are much shorter... I think I could actually get a C6 into my garage without using ramps
I dont remember who originally posted this .gif file, so I cant give credit where credit is due... but this is a good comparison

There has been plenty of discussion on this very topic in the C6 General Forum.
Personally, I like them both just the way they are and plan on keeping a C5 and will be on the lookout for a C6 Z06 down the road.
I saw them together at Hot Summer Nights in Sioux Falls. The C6 is smaller. It's 5 inches shorter, an inch narrower and, I think, about 1.5 inches taller. Some may be fond of it, I am not. None of this "it'll grow on you" stuff. It shouldn't have to. The appeal should be immediate. The C5 hit me right between the eyes and I loved it. Personally, I believe the "smiley face" C6 will be a short-lived generation. I think the new Z06 will be styled differently than the C6, and the C7 will soon follow, styled similarly to the Z06. We'll see...

I like the C5 better -- which is a good thing for me since I won't have to spend any money for a while!
Since I have muscular dystrophy and can't depress a clutch with my left leg, I have to have an automatic. Since GM has not upgraded the automatic to a paddle shift manumatic in the C6, I will just keep my C5 till they do.

I created that animated GIF.
I also made a C4/C5 comparison, but it's not as good.
Edit: Actually, the image you posted appears to be a shrunken version of the one I created.

That is a totally awesome picture! I really do like the C5 better! Maybe I am just biased, since I just got mine almost 2 weeks ago?
I like them both for different reasons. Which is why I'm keeping the C5 before I get a C6. I could sell the C5 and get a C6 much sooner, but I'd prefer to have both.
According to GM website the C6 is 5 inches shorter, 1 inch taller and 1 inch narrower than the C5
I like the idea of shorter, but 1 in taller?? that means 2 in taller then most lowered C5s. And 1 inch narrower??? Lets see when Pratt & Miller did the second two C5-Rs or the for the second year, they widened them 2 inchs for stabilty. My C5 is widenied by 1 in too for cornering stabilty.
So if I get a C6 that means: toss the 19 in wheels, no 19 in R compounds, stick with 18 in wheels; Lower the car 2 inches, ( have to see what aftermarket supenssion kits come out.) and widen 2 inches. ( ok ACP http://www.corvetteracebodies.com/corvetteracebod.htm any C6 wide body kits ?) :LOL - After all Didn't Dave Hill ( Race Car Engineering, Aug -2004 ) say the C6R is mechaniclly the same as the C5R expect body pannels??
Think I will wait a year or two.

It's the front end, looks Mitsubishi to me. From the cockpit back, it looks like it could be a progression of the C5, but the frontend doesn't look like a vette........ I'll stick with the C5 and see what the C7 looks like when it comes out.
While I do think the C6 is a great looking car, I honestly think the C5 looks better from every angle. As previously mentioned, the C5 didn't have to "grow on me". I loved it from day one.
