NY has a requirement for a front plate. I don't run one on my Firehawk.
I've been pulled over once for it and did not get a ticket. The cop has a C4 and understood when I told him I did not run a plate because I thought it looked ugly. It also helped that I told him I use Zaino when he asked what I used for polish.....turn's out he sells Zaino!
The statement in the DMV code that I've read basically says that if CA issues a front plate for your car, it must be mounted.
Yup.

In my case I bought a 96 C4 from a used car dealership. It only had one plate on it. Does that mean I can't get a ticket for not having a front plate? I'm thinking I'm still responsible because the car must have been issued two plates but, when I got it the car only came with one. So what is my responsibility concerning this?
Someone just had to start a thread on this front plate thing and open my old wounds. I don't think they will ever heal. I think I'll be scarred for life over this ugly issue.
