Having never owned a corvette, we asked some people we know that own one, asking which options to get. I also read postings here and concluded that the Z51 package with an automatic didn't make much sense. My wife will be the primary driver and will not drive a stick, and will not "push" the car to where the Z51 package would be noticed. I wanted the optional rear-end for a little more low end. She drives a 2002 Lexus GS 300 and wanted to keep the creature comforts she has now. That is why we are ordering a C6 instead of buying a C5. We did change the color back to Daytona Sunset Orange

That's the same reason why I'm not getting the Z-51 but basically I am tired of shifting for the last 15 years and I am tired of feelin every bump in the road plus shifting and a bumpy ride causes me more back pain. I See 
it would benefit and make more sense to get the 6 spd with the Z-51 as this suspension is a handling package which matches well with a manual which you have more control in the twisties as opposed to an automatic... 
Good point
