Because the C5 is design is all ovals. Then they put in a squared shift **** (carry-over from the C4). And the mirrors are rounded squares too.
Then the C6 comes out and it has a more creased angular look. So they make the shift **** round and the side view mirrors look more oval. Not that these things don't look good on the C6, but it seems like they integrate into the C5 design perfectly.
