After weeks of reading the posts on this forum, and randomly inspecting people's public profiles, it would seem that two age groups are predominant: the 40+ crowd, and the twenty-something crowd. Does this car not appeal as much to the thirty-something crowd?

Just curious.

Guess you missed the poll where people entered their ages.

Here's a link to the poll. My memory is worse than I thought.

The largest percentage of owners are the baby boomers, from which I am one. Many of these individuals who always wanted one but could not afford them then, now can and beyond which, those same male individuals can do it with their wives blessings. lol

Actually, the poll result I referenced above had:

AGES %
20 - 29 = 19%
30 - 39 = 31%
40 - 49 = 16%
50 - 59 = 19%
60+ = 10%
OTHER = 5%

You're absolutely right!

20 somethings are trying prove something, and/or live a life they can't afford, now.

40+ somethings are still trying to prove something, and/or live a life they couldn't afford, before.

Oh, I see. Guess it was just my perception. Maybe it's just that thirty-somethings are the least vocal on the forum.

I'm trying to prove that I can afford a C6 by eating ramen noodles again and not having an expensive girlfriend.

I was a forty something when I bougt my first C5. I was a fifty something when I bought my second C5. When I was a thirty something I didn't care for the Corvette, although that only applies to the early C4's. Would love to have a '96, now.
When I was a twenty something, I REALLY didn't want a Corvette, with apologies to the C3 owners from '74 to '83.
When I was a teen something, I wanted a Corvette, but couldn't afford one. Heck, I didn't even have a drivers license!
So, either I've caught up with the Corvette, or it's caught up with me.
In either case, a C6 next year, with no doubt!

23 years old, young I know, but I have everything thing else major already, a house on the way ready next year, wedding(mostly the damn engagement ring..ouch) taken care of already,no kids on the way for a few years. So I have nothing else to spend my money on. Why not a car? And why not a C6 corvette. might as well enjoy the car while Im young

Very perceptive! I'm 39, nothing to prove, been there, seen it, done that......but I'm definitely able to afford heck of a lot more toys!!! Just trying to address my "mid-life" issues ahead of schedule. Bring on the Z06!!!

Default Boomers?

Can't remember exactly when the boomer generation ends, somewhere in the mid 1950s I think. Shylor is right, it began immediately following WW2, so 30 and 40 somethings don't count as boomers...

I bought my first vette at age 36, almost 57 now....

Bought my first Vette at 24 it was a sky blue 1979. It was all I could think about.

Somehow as I got older... I started buying older corvettes?

No, actually> Stated very simply, the sociologists and the media define baby boomers as those born between (and including) 1946 and 1964. (There is no law or constitutional amendment so stating; and other boundaries have been suggested. But this is the time frame most commonly used.) In 2004, that would make us between 40 and 58 years old. There are about 76 million boomers in the U.S.; we currently represent about 29% of the U.S. population. (In Canada, we are sometimes known as "Boomies"; there are 6 million of us there. In Britain, our generation is known as "the bulge.")

You should also note, that with age comes wisdom. With wisdom, comes the realization that a Corvette is a necessary part of one's existence.

Stan the very, very wise...becoming wiser every day.
