Bose System Speaker replacement

It was definitely NOT from too much power but too little. So I took the extra I had out of the box and hooked it up. I made sure I had the Pos and Neg connections right first.
When I turned the stereo up to about 3/4 volume I could here the new one start to crackle a bit.
Any comments or suggestions? I guess the Infinity REF3002CF's are not the best for the Bose Amp.
Here is the web site for them.

Well I did it, Replaced the 3.5" in the door and the 5.25" in the back. And am I happy. XM is now clean and crisp, I can hear the snare loud an clear, the symbols are back, I am hearing stuff I haven't heard in songs I know and like. I had to turn down the treble for the CD, which for my ears is saying something.
Blow by blow.
The speakers: Eclipse SE8233 3.5" coaxial and SE8353 5.25" triaxial. They each measure 3.4 ohms and exactly matched the Bose (3.4 ohms)I took out.
Installation.
Removing the rear covers is pretty straight forward, First prop up the hatch so that there is no tension on the lifts, With a screwdriver you can move the spring clip and the lift will pop off the ball. Then there are 4 plastic pins the need to be popped out. then just pull out the cover out from the bottom. Remove the speakers, Connect the new speakers (I won't go into that, you have to make the plugs work) and then bolt them back in. Cake x 2. Black is ground in the rear and green is ground in the front.
Front doors:
Driver side, remove the small oval panel under the handle and there are two torx screws, then the panel pulls straight off, starting at the bottom, there is a place to pry on the bottom to get started. then the panel will make a ton of noise as you continue to pull. Just replace the speakers (wiring again) and replace the panel and the little cover.
Passenger side, the screws are in a different place, one is behind the door release button(just pull the aluminum cover straight off) and the other is under the armrest(just a hole)
Note: before you tighten the screws close the door and make sure the panel lines up, if not there is a bit of movement available(very little) align and tighten.
Took me about 1.5 hours, because I was being extra cautious learning how the rear panels came off. The result was pretty amazing. I spent about $160 for the speakers. I had done my homework and listened to many different speakers and the Eclipses were by far the brightest, and that is what the Bose lacked. Bose and their paper speakers Believe me boys and girls there is nothing special about the Bose Installation, there is no enclosure for the rears, just a plastic square bracket. The C4 Bose had enclosures and amps. The fronts are nothing special, the speaker is just screwed to the panel and there is no enclosure there either. Standard old paper 4 ohm speakers.

Check out the web site in the link above. It most definitely is the amp. I don't think the Speaker can handle power or lack there of that the bose amp is putting out.
I guess the Infinity speakers are not good replacements for the C6 Bose system.
Eclipse just came out with the new SE8235 3.5's

It's an upgrade from the Bose system
J/K - Yes, the C6 system is better than the C5. For the average Vette driver (is there such a thing???) upgrading the speakers and adding a sub to the system will be more than enough - my .02
BTW, I didn't realize it had a center speaker either!
HAPPY WEEKEND!

The Mark Levinson in my '02 GS430 totally rocked. The Nav Sound system in my C6 totally blows. BUT, the GS couldn't get out of it's own way compared to the C6 in performance. Guess everything has goods and bads.
Alot has changed since then. Many have swapped out the fronts. Myself included. JL 6.5 components. I supplemented the bass with a JL Stealthbox subwoofer. try the audio section for good ideas and knowledeable help.
