it seems there are a lot of people with too much spare time on their hands who worry about about waves or nods..I guess it must be a big deal to them???.....Nothing better to do????
I like to wave/nod, but it is not a big deal if none is returned
C5's still rule.....The C6 is not the car i expected..Power wise after my test drive yesterday, really surprised me. very smooth, but no way near the "punch" my 2001 Z has (450hp). Off course I wave at any vette I see....problem is the C6 does look abit like a Japanese car.....Oh well... hurry up with the C6 "z"....I am sure it will have the muscle look all real Vette owners want....
Wrong! The current C6 already has the "muscle look". It's trimmer and more muscular (powerful) than the C5. I at every vette that I see approaching my C6.
Not this again, if I jumped on the PC everytime a (fill in the blank generation) Corvette didn't acknowledge a wave 70% of my posts since 1999 would be bevoted to that subject.
I live in an area where there are a lot of C6's and when I cross paths with them, they rarely acknowledge my presence (04CE Vert). Almost like " I've got the latest thing and you don't" ha ha. Oh well,so be it.
To state the obvious: The popup-less C6 is harder to distinguish from all other Japanese cars. By the time we realize it is a C6 we already passed it (too late for a wave)...
I agree
It is hard for the untrained eye to tell a C6 from a Japanese car especially when they are coming towards you. It is also hard to tell a C5 from a Japanese Car. To help out, I made this Identification Key so those that have problems can tell the difference.

We almost always get a return wave. There are C5 owners, just as there will be C6 owners who know nothing about Corvette heritage and no idea what the wave is. I met a C5 owner one time & asked him how he liked his C5...he said, "What's a C5?"
I think this is what is really going on here...and the particluar part of the country you are in.
I think the most important thing here is not to start getting attitudes about other generations of vette's when they don't wave back...you really have no idea if they are a Vette nut like most of us here on the forum. This was one thing that surprised me when I joined the vette-hood last year..what a sore subject this whole wave thing is. People need to relax.
I saw a lady at the gas station near my house with a purple C4 (i was in my C5) and I said that color looks awesome on your C4.....she chuckled and said " i am sorry but what's a C4"?
One thing not brought up yet is most C5s are tinted. I waved at another C5 today and I couldn't tell you if he/she waved or not. Couldn't even see the driver. My windows are tinted and I go out of my way to make sure my wave is as visible as possible. But sometimes I'm sure the other guy could see me. Makes no difference to me. I wave, I feel good, If I get a wave back I feel really good.

oh well..everyone to his own...some guys like fat chicks???? others like brown ones.... i like Zo6's.....you like C6's.....
I wave to all other Corvettes when I am able to notice in time. Now and then other things in traffic take precedence over noticing every single vette coming my way and I don't see the other vette until it is too late. By the way C5's can also flash their fog lamps, which I sometimes do if I do not think that the other vette will see my wave due to lighting conditions , distance or my window tint.
When I had a C4 I waved to all vettes too. Many C5 owners may be new to the Corvette heritage and not know about the wave, just as I am noticing more and more with C4's now. I am guessing that it is because they are so affordable now that a lot of the buyers are 1st time owners and too new to the vette culture. Just keep waving at all vettes. Sooner or later the newbies will catch on.
