I had an odd thing happen last night . My C6 was in the garage all tucked in for the night . My wife went out to put a load of laundry in the dryer . When she walked past my car ( and she swears she didn't touch it ) the alarm went off ! Horns a blasting ! Scared the hell out of her she said ! She said my car did not like her . I grabbed at that one and told her to just stay away from it from now on ! Why would the car go off like that ?
I'm not fimiliar with the current security. Some alarms have something called a 'shatterguard' which would detect high pitch noises like glass breaking. Other systems have mercury switches which sometimes would be set off by just the wind.
I wonder if she closed the door too hard? That's of course
assuming the C6 has any of these devices. They're pretty old tech, just a couple of guesses really.
Sounds like you need to get her to tell you in detail what she did for about the last 20-30 seconds before the alarm went off. It wouldn't do for your well-being for her to keep thinking the car didn't "like her."

We know that you hit the panic button to scare the h3ll out of her
so she won't want to drive it. And you posted this thread to cover your a$$, Now own up to it
I did the exact same thing to my wife! The combination of that and the fact that I "tried" to teach her how to drive a stick on a hill was all I had to do to keep her hands off of the car. Come to think about it, that is the only day I've ever heard my wife curse...LOL
Some vettes are like that..I know your 05 is not an 88, but my Dad's 188 was the same way. Everyone would be asleep and the stock alarm would go off for no reason sometimes...good luck
This happens occasionally with my C5, we finally figured out that the other junk in my pocket would sometimes hit the panic alarm on the fob. Really small movements can do it if everything in the pocket is just right.
