I haven't put my front plates on yet and don't intend to unless I get stopped for it. I'm thinking of putting a small sign on the front of the car that says "See rear of car for plate." I'm sure that'll satisfy the local constabulary.
The dealer from whom I ordered my C6 says he has not yet installed one front tag (yes, MD, VA, and DC, where his buyers live, all require a front tag....). If a customer wants it installed, he will do so, but so far not one buyer has done so.
No front plate for me. VA requires them. I carry the other plate behind the driver’s seat. Local Cop told me that as long as you have it in the car the will not ticket you. After I get ticketed 3-4 times, I may change my mind.
In Maryland, the bottom of the [regular] plate is nothing but white space. I trimmed mine off and I think this gives the best look of the currently available options.
IMO, the reason the stock location looks so bad is because it hangs down into the grille opening. The other location with it stuck to the lower part of the bumper looks even worse than stock IMHO because it looks like you ran over somebody's lunchbox and it just got stuck there. Definitely looks out of place down there because niether top/bottom edge aligns with anything.
I never put a front license plate on my 84 corvette or my 2000 Mercedes ML (I'm in Texas and they are required). I was stopped a couple of times and I just told the cop I didn't know it was required because the dealer didn't put it on, and I promised to put it on as soon as I got home. I never got a ticket.
Yea, I tried that buy the Wife had other idea's man. She was not about to be stopped due to me not putting the plate on. And I was stopped already the day before the Dealer paper plate date was up. You know how it goes.

Looks better than I thought it would. BTW: You got my color.
was it difficult to cut the bracketand does it do any damage to the frames "structure" that may make it vibrate or do any dammage in the long run? This looks like it may be my best option as well, the "USA" European plates are slightly smaller than actual US plates already.
I'm in Va. First week back from Kerbeck, I get pulled but no ticket. Got pulled 6 times in 2 different Vipers. Getting pulled is such a hassle, I have put fronts on Viper and C6-looks crappy, but better than a regular dose of blue lights in the rearview.

I cut it just below the bottom "sticky". There are two stickies on the top of the plate and one at the bottom that stick the bracket to the bumper. If you cut the bracket just below the bottom sticky, you are cutting almost even with the opening of the grille. It was easy to do and doesn't affect the structure at all because it's just empty plastic hanging beneath that. I used a pair of junk drawer scissors to cut the bracket... nothing special, and used metal shears to cut the plate and put on some nice rounded corners that match the top. Just be careful not to scrape the bumper with the scissors. Obviously it would be ideal to get a fresh bracket and do it off the car but I had no trouble with it on the car. It's easiest to take the plate off, decide where you are going to cut that, cut the plate and then mount the plate on the stock bracket and trace the edge of the new plate on the bracket to outline where to cut the bracket. Just make sure not to cut off the plate more than the grille opening, and if your state has anything printed on the bottom of the plate, I wouldn't recommend messing with it.
I doubt I'll get stopped for cutting it, and if I do, I'll just tell them it was on my old sports car (true) and the bottom got bent and torn up from bottoming out (somewhat true). New plates are only $20 if I just have to get new ones for some reason. I seriously doubt anyone will care because a lot of license plate brackets I've seen cover up more than I cut off anyway! My feeling is that as long as you don't do anything to the plate that makes the actual plate number harder to read, no one is going to care.

I like your grill you had installed to protect your fins on the radiator/condensor. Did you install this yourself or is there an aftermarket part? Is this an easy installation?
