2006 Chevrolet Corvette Z06

500-horse Corvette to tour auto shows next spring
Chevrolet will give Corvette aficionados a preview of the all-new 2006 Z06 model on the auto show circuit this coming spring.
The big news lurks under the hood, where an all-new LS7 7.0-liter V-8 (the displacement works out to 427 cubic inches) reportedly churns out 500 horsepower.
The ultimate 'Vette also will be fitted with wider tires and larger Brembo brakes.
Body modifications include a high-rise hood, deep side skirts and cooling ducts ahead of the rear wheels.

I was talking with i guy from GM Powertrain today. I have know him for years and he knows i am into Corvettes. While its not really breaking news, he told me the Z06 will have a 7.0 litre engine and the number being mentioned is 500 hp.
