I drive about 80 miles a day roundtrip to work. I love the way the Z51 feels and handles. I also have a 02 WS6 Ram Air Trans Am. The Vette is quieter and rides better that the TA.

At present, I'm on my second Cadillac Eldorado. I'd like to get a new one, but GM is not cooperating. They discontinued the mark and I bought one of the last ones to roll off the line.

Now I'm considering a C6, if I go that route, I would be placing an order late in 2005 enought time I think to work out any 1st year bugs, if they exist.

I think they look great. I know they are quick. My question, how are they as an every day driver? I'm using the Eldorado now as my commute car, the new Vette if I go that route will replace the Eldorado. I travel 22 miles each way twicer a day. Don't like to fly, so it is not uncommon to hit the slab and spend the day at 80 MPH

In my area, north central Arkansas, I only see this mark out for sunny weekends. Kind of makes me wonder if there is a reason for that.

Any input form owners will be appreciated, thanks.

My advice is stick with the El Dorado and avoid the XLR. It's a cheap imitation of the C6, which happens to be much more expensive than the C6. I believe that if you were going to catch the vette fever it would have happened long ago. I put 153000 miles on my C4 and it was a thrill every time I crawled into it. I would not be happy with an El Dorado for ten miles and I suspect that you would not be happy with a Corvette. There's a feeling that goes far beyond the car, and like being stung by a wasp, there's no doubt in your mind that something unusual has happened to you.

I find the C6 to be very comfortable & a very easy car to drive. I'm 6'4 and have no problem fitting in it but ditto on the driver's side blind spot that was previously mentioned.

I love my C6 Z51. It's a huge improvement over my '00 C5 Z51
