Default Oil Temperature

I have read varying reports of average oil temperature here on the forum. I realize we live in many different states with a variety of outside air temps, and in winter no less. But what is the oil temp ranges you guys are seeing. Mine seems to run a little hotter than most others at between 214 to 233 degrees. Stop and go driving seem to be a killer, perhaps not enough airflow over the cooler.

Thoughts, comments?

Thanks

I've not checked mine lately. About half of my driving is in-town traffic (not quite stop-n-go, but almost as bad), the other half is driving between towns at 45-55 MPH.

The few times I checked mine previously, I was seeing temps from 210 to 220, although mostly around 215. I've got auto with base suspension.

EDIT: I see you've got a 6-spd with Z51. Maybe some others with that combo will chime in.

A4, F55 - I've also got a Speed Lingerie Bra with the mesh "grill" and makes no difference.
Water Temp = 193-196 over 30 mph. At "idling" = 210-216

I've got Z51 6Sp. My oil temp runs higher in stop and go -almost 220 . What I've found that if I keep my revs down, the temp stays below 220. I try keep my revs in traffic and surface streets between 2000-2500. Here, in LA traffic is a way of life.

About 215 oil temp, with Z-51 package and running slow for under 500 miles break-in.

No problem. The oil needs to be that hot to boil off moisture. Oil temps are more of a concern when they approach or exceed 300 degrees. You will not see those temps unless you have something wrong with the car or driving at a DE at WOT for 20 to 25 minutes.
