If I push hard enough, it will flatten the bumper out. I just wonder how long the double sided tape will hold given the continuous force on it.

Thoughts?

Hi Jim, that's a common question and as you mentioned if you push hard it will flatten out. The adhesive is agressive and will hold very nicely.

Yes, that did work and it's holding nicely. I wedged a 2x4 under the plate to the floor to push it up for several hours and now it's holding well.

I have always been skeptical about the claims that this placement did not significantly raise temperatures so I did my own experiment. After all, if you take something the size of a license plate and stick it in your main air inlet, it only makes sense that it could raise temps if air flow was approaching a critical level.

Freeway driving, 65-70 mph, 80 degrees F, with the bracket, oil temp was running 167 degrees F. W/O the plate mounted, it stabilized at 165, so I have to agree, no significant temp increase under normal operating conditions at reasonable ambient temperatures. Obviously, extreme driving conditions could and probably would affect temps, but hey, that's why it's removable.

It may actually be an advantage to have the plate in the winter since it could help increase the oil temp faster, for those of you who actually drive these cars in the winter

Default Call me crazy, but I am not a big fan of the color-matched frame..

It seems to accentuate the existence of the license plate over the front fascia.

Are there any pics available with the bracket/plate only? A perfect example would be that combo on a LMB Z.

Thanks

Al

Peter, I was on your site. I see where I order the bracket for the Z06 and it shows the optional colour matched frame but where do I find the optional colour matched frame if I want to order and how much extra is the frame?

Edit...found it.. Thanks

I know this thread is some what long however, if you spend some time and read it you will find a number of people using our bracket that have posted here stating that they have seen no increase in engine temp because of the bracket, air flows around it

I broke down and ordered one for my new Z. Hate the idea of running a front plate, but hate being pulled over more. A bit pricey though.

Instead of reading 47 pages of info (sorry!), I thought I'd just ask the main questions I've got:

1. Does this bracket work for the Grand Sport/Z06?

2. Are the bracket and the color-matched frame 2 separate items?

3. It looks like the total for both frame and bracket (just the front) with shipping would be close to $250 - am I close?

4. Are there any discounts for ordering the bracket & frame together? Along with the rear plate frame?

Thanks!
