Sorry guys no scanner at home but I will try and give all a "cliff note" version of the 12 page write up. It was very informative and done over a week of testing on 2 tracks, one being a 1.75 mile handeling circuit and a FIA approved 3.48 mile high speed circuit. They conducted concurrent tests and logged 100's of miles over a week.

It starts out my saying that Europe has America beat hands down when it comes to ancient civilizations and magnificent Gothic cathederals (have to agree since I am Greek), the CHEVROLET CORVETTE Z06 boasts the most far-reaching lineage of any model in this group. If there's any doubt the Vette has come a long way from the 1954's Blue Flame inline-6 and 2 speed automatic, consider this high-tech laundry list - a dry sump 7.0 liter aluminum-block V8 with titanium connecting rods, 3-lb. carbon fiber front fenders, an all aluminum chasis and a trademark transverse composite leaf springs. At $65,600 list, it belts out ear-pinning acceleration................

Too bad the Z06 doesn't come with MPSII tires, I'm sure the numbers would be better, amazing numbers though for the convenience of run-flats.

As always, the R&T test drivers are absolutely the worst of all the magazines at making american iron accelerate. Their Z06 trap speeds are lower than most owners' first time at the track and the R&T drivers are supposed to be pro.

I don't know where Road & Track came up with the C6Z 0 - 100 time of 8.9 Seconds.
Looking at Ranger's best runs, he's posting 0-100 times around 7.4 seconds.

http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show....php?t=1360361

That's such a significant difference it calls into question the validity of their test results.

Drag strip measures for the 1/8 and 1/4 are average speeds through the final 66' of those distances. The terminal speed is higher and that's what the mags measure.

My point is that most any C6Z owner with some launch experience will beat the R&T numbers acceleration numbers by a wide margin.

Look at the Ford GT stats...last or at the bottom of most categories.

Yeah, that's a valid test.

Well looks like the Z06 got its butt kick pretty hard by the F430 the opposite to the C&D test........Even the Lambo had a better lap time.....

118 MPH in the quarter from a 505 horsepower Z06 is a disgrace. Hell, my bone stock '04 Z hit 118 and I'm not even that great of a drag racer and I weigh 270 lbs.

R&T is the most rediculous car mag out there. It is amazing that they can stay in businees based solely on selling to teenage boys. The whole mag is a disgrace. That editor is an idiot driver but genius con man.

Please guys explain to me because i don't understand, how in the world can a F430 beat the Z06 at the track by a full 2 seconds?

What is even worst is the Gallardo, is pretty clear by the videos that we have seen that the Lambo can't stay with the Z and that the Gallardo is heavier than both the Z and the 430 and still the Gallardo beat the Z by almost 2 seconds? Hello!!!!!!!

In the C&D the Z beat the 430 by 2.3 sec. and is interesting that both tests the C&D and R&T were done in europe......

Either this 430 was pumped up or it had some type of R compound tires.

Different to the U.S version the Euro version of the 430 comes with Launch Control.

Its pretty crazy how testing of the same group of cars done by two different mags (c&d and R&t) come out with completely different results. I think the lambo in the test is probably the new LP640 murci and the f430 is the new challenger (raced preped version) and the editors are just that dumb. Seriously, how is the lambo faster around the track than the Z06, 911 and Ford GT?
