[Z06] engine builder signature?
#21
that I am aware of, but a huge *** signature in the middle of the block under the intake manifold?? its also done with a pink marker, Im assuming it was a red marker that has faded into a pinkish color. Tell me if its weird, ill take a photo of it
EDIT: Orange marker thingy.
EDIT: Orange marker thingy.
I pulled my intake off(to install ported manifold) and there was no signature on the valley cover. I only had the plate on the fuel rail.

aah, nothing major, im just replacing the stock valvesprings with high-lift valvesprings, infact after taking out the old ones they were already broken from below, my car has done 45,000 KM and I was nervous driving the car down with the supercharger after hearing and seeing a lot of failures in LS7s, most of which were due to broken springs!
im also changing out the clutch and flywheel, lowering the car, installing gauges, a nice exhaust switch, fixing a few things here and there too

Well Well I was wondering how long it would take before some would find this. Some of us did sign the valley cover (under intake). We got caught by management and was told to stop but it took a while. It would be 1 of about 5 of us that did this. Some even dated it. I signed my last engine that I built in September of this year. We used our orange paint stick that we use to touch point for torques. Yes please post Pictures.
Thanks Henry

How far back did you and the other builders start signing the valley cover? My car was built on Jan 13, 2006. Steve Collins built my engine on Jan 3, 2006(Hopefully he wasn't hung over from the New Years party ) Actually, this engine is one solid strong running SOB. Is it possible that my was signed by Steve?
By the way, that was a very cool idea for you guys to do that
Ayousef, Thanks for bringing this to our attention It is hard to believe it took 3 years of production before hearing about this.

There is also a little plaque with the builders name on the motor. I personally know this builder "James knipp" message me if u have any questions about your builder. I also have a few of the engine plaques with James knipp on them

Pretty good stuff... Sounds like something I would do. If in fact I were an engine builder at GM...
