Default GM badge removal?

Is it difficult to remove the little 1 inch square GM badge on each of the car? Will it leave a mark or pull the paint? I will be picking my car up tomorrow and I would like to pull those things off as they do nothing! At least for me they don't!

They are easy to remove and can be removed without any marks if you are careful. The time tested technique that worked on my Z to remove the GM emblem as well as removing the CTS emblem on my previous V is as follows:

Get a hair dryer. Set it to the hottest setting and warm the emblem as much as possible. This loosens the adhesive. Then get some dental floss (monofilament kind) and separate the badge from the adhesive. This should not be too hard. Then all you have to do is get the remaining adhesive off. This also is not hard using the hot hair dryer and some standard automotive polish/swirl remover. Then apply a little wax and you're done.

I think there is a link with pics on the CTS-V section of the cadillac owners board. Nigel

That's what I do, except I use 3M adhesive remover, excellent stuff.

WD40 also works extremely well at removing glue and no harm to paint. Spray first and let sit for 15 min or so and glue will loosen up before you begin removal process. Then use WD for clean up after emblem is off.

WD40 on a rag over night (hold it with masking tape)and dental floss, you're done in less than 30 seconds

with above instructions for removal. Car looks much better without the "GM chiclets." Don't forget to put them in a plastic bag after removal - they'll be worth a mint someday.

I really didn't have a problem with the badges. I was proud GM built me such a great car. But, I noticed one of the badges was only stuck by a corner after a car washing one day, so I took both off. No big difference in appearance to me. I could have lived with them if they were stuck properly but now I'll live without them.

Cleaner appearance without and less wind resistance.
