Default How low can stock bolts go

I did a search and only found a thread on c-5's. How low in the rear will stock bolts take you without a kit? How low is low enough?, and what do you think is the ideal amount? I still want to take it to the tracks, but look killer at car shows.

I lowered mine down all the way in the rear and counted the turns. I then lowered the front the same amount of turns relative to the rear on the same side. I think I got maybe 1/2 to 3/4 inch drop. I think it looks just right. I don't like the "broken spring" look. I took it to the dealer for an alignment afterwards. It was still in specs but had too much negative camber for my taste.

I was told the same thing here in Los Angeles by Dick Guldstrand a 60's corvette racing legend.. a 1/2" is most common and 3/4" is the max on the stock bolts. If you want more you have to swap out the bolts with after market.

thanks for the reply, i will be lowering and tinting today, if i can sneak away from work long enough.I was thinking 1/2 to 1 inch would probably be as much as you would want to go, since i have scraped the ground several times already. guess there will be some steep driveways that i just won't enter.

I have mine lowered on stock bolts and have the bushings cut and the ride to me is slightly firmer.
