Very Sad Day in my Life
I just wanted to say goodbye to all.....I sold my 07 Z06 today. It was very hard to give up but I had to let it go. I am looking for a car that has good performance, AWD and 4 doors...Most likely a Audi RS4. I know it won't compare to two most recent cars that I have owned (porsche 911s, Z06), but I had very little time to drive the Z06 due to the weather and 3 small kids. I will return to the true sports car arena someday soon after the kids get alittle bigger and I can actually use the car more. Not too many options other then the Audi but it will have to do until further notice....both cost about the same and I will be able to drive the audi everyday all year long. My 07 Z06 475rwhp was by far the fastest and most exciting car I have every owned. The 911 was also a great drivers car that was very well balanced in every aspect. I met a few of the forums members over the last year and enjoyed the conversations and information that they provided. I enjoyed sitting and reading the forum on a daily basis. Thanks for the ride while it lasted and I pledge to be back again.......

Sad to say goodbye to the Z... but i'm sure you'll get another one someday. I know you mentioned AWD, but if you don't absolutely need it, the BMW m3 sedan isn't bad either. Just a thought. Good luck with your next car!

Bye
The Z is fast, but children grow faster you'll almost miss it. The Z is beautiful, but doesn't compare to a child's smile while being with you. You will miss the Z but you will love the company of all your children on weekends. Family comes first and they will easily fill the gap.
Enjoy it and see you at C7 General discussion forum.

Trapp,
I wouldn't categorize it as a sad day. Your simply swapping a material thing which has a price, unlike family. (But I know where you're coming from and you wouldn't feel so blue if it truly wasn't a special car)
It's never been a requisite for a member here to be a Corvette owner. No reason to say good-bye. Good luck with the next car you buy and enjoy your family! Heck, let's spin it.....it's a happy day.

I went through the same thing about 6 years ago.
I had a 2001 ZO6 which just wasn't getting any use because of all the family commitments I had. I sold it and bought a Jeep Wrangler for weekend use and having fun with the kids. It sat in the garage with the top off and I'd take it to the kid's baseball games during the week and on the weekend. It was a blast!
My twins are now 17, and I've got more time to get back into performance cars. My son will take over daily use of the Jeep beginning this summer, and I've recently placed a deposit with my dealer to order a 2009 ZO6. Selling the 2001 Vette was the right decision, and I couldn't have been happier when I was out driving around with my kids in the Jeep.
Good luck with whatever car you end up with. Remember though, you WILL be back .

I don't have kids, and I can tell you, you are making the right decision.
Remember, it is just a car.
I think you'll have just as much fun with an RS4, very nice car, good luck.

I feel your pain
It has already happened to me twice - different circumstances. I had to give up my first Vette '84 (36K miles) when I graduated and needed cash to move to CA for my new job. Then I traded my '87 (18K miles) for my second child; this time it took until 1998 and three kids for me to get back into another one. No regrets whatsoever - you'll just miss it every now and then, when you open the garage door, and no Corvette. We'll be here for you.
Good luck whatever you do.

You are right about the Z being the best. It's a real machine, on a par with anything out there. Not to worry though, they are all fun cars, & you'll have a ball with the RS4, as it'll make a great combo fun/family ride.

Im with rockstar on this. I like your enthusiasm and you always have very good posts, but I always wonder the same thing.
If it is a little friendly jab at the 80's or something, cool, if not what gives?
Enquiring minds want to know??????
No offense meant what so ever here, by the way....

I went through the same thing with my kids and needing to haul them to Basketball and Little League games and practices, school events and such. Those were (mostly) great times and they will fly by on you. I stayed in touch with the guy that bought my car and ended up buying it back.
