Default New ZR1 or go for a Lingenfelter 800 or 1000 BHP turbo??

Just looking to information or advice from those who might be more experienced that I about turbo packages. I have a C6-Z06 and have been looking to trade for a new ZR1. But as I researched the options the Lingenfelter turbo package got my interest. Does anyone have any insights into this option? It seems I could upgrade my Z06 to a Lingenfelter turbo for less than the bid price on a ZR1. I appreciate your insights and recommendations.

I think both are over priced. You can call me and get this set up for probably half the price.

I would proabaly go zr-1. the lingerfelter packages does not update the handling in any way.

you factor in the different suspention and braking the zr-1 has in addition to the TT kit and it would get right up there in price.

then again I can't affoard either so I am not sure my opinion matters.

Watch our BUI E85 package. Some states have this fuel available, some do not.

We can set up the bottom end for 750 HP to 1100 HP easily. When shooting for NA up to 750 RWHP, Katech will use the 12:1 forged 2618T651 Pistons, bushed titanium rods, and stock forged crank. Piston squirters, hot honed, blueprinted and balanced. 429 cid.

When shooting for higher HP, we can easily add the bottom end girdle, forged Callies crank and rods for the extreme high hp applications. Pistons would be set at 9:1 CR.

Pricing for both packages will be forthcoming. Turn key pick up and delivery service may be included.

Katech pistons are custom machined for each application.

Remember this. Much more boost can be run with E85, since it is 105 Octane from the pump. This allows better timing and higher boost levels than you could run with 93 Octane available at most pumps. 12 more Octane points make a huge difference.

I haven't driven a Lingenfelter, but I own a ZR1 and owned several Z06s; and dollar for dollar the ZR1 is far superior to the Z06. See if you can find and spend a little time in both cars. And then depending on your mission, can choose the one that fits. Does a warranty matter? What about service if something goes wrong? Just a couple of the things to think about when dropping a lot of money. So there you have my .02 Good luck which ever way you go.

I would take the ZR1. If the mod bug hits you will be able to bump the power on that baby a good bit for relatively mild bucks. Not gonna be 1000hp but I think 750 or so will take down just about anything you are gonna meet on the highway.

I am doing a TTi kit this month. For what my 2008 Z06 is worth in this market, it just pays to upgrade it vs selling or trading it in for a ZR1.

Thanks my point, you can not get a deal on Zr1 and it appears you can get ZR1 or better performance with the right engine and chassie upgrades

Lingenfelter - Hand made(no warranty)and you dont need 800 or 1000 hp for RWD car
ZR1 - street car with everything you need( power, brakes, handling, everything)+Tune+h eaders - still have absolutely streetable car which will destroy everything on the road. Trust me! I have LPE 454ci 580whp and i`m not enjoing my car....its nightmare.
in some weeks i will install almost stock cam which will throw me to 500whp,but i will have a car with street driving manners(not a track car only).
If you want to enjoy your car and feel a real power&pleasure - get ZR1
If you want a pure power( and nothing else) get LPE
Good luck. Just dont miss

A factory 638H/P ZR1 is way cooler than 800+ modded car. Hard to explain it's just not the same. Just as a Z06 is way better than a modded C6.. JMO
