$1,030 for valve covers and coil mounts. Ouch. Wonder what I can sell my existing carbon fiber valve covers for. I'd love to be able to run the Katech coil brackets with CF valve covers.

I've been asked many times over the years if we could make a carbon fiber valve cover. People would see the C5-R and want what they saw on the racecar. C5-R valve covers are $2500 EACH. (no coil brackets, no hardware). We came up with these covers and did our best to price them as low as we could. There are 12 CNC machined aluminum pieces per cover. That doesn't include the hardware bag which has 16 CNC machined pieces. There are 33-35 pieces in total that go into making these kits. There is also design and tooling. I think we priced these just right. They are cheaper than our aluminum covers, powdercoat, inserts, and coil brackets. We sell those things like hotcakes so there must be a market for it.

I agree, there's definitely a market for them. I get a lot of questions and compliments on the carbon fiber valve covers that I have now on my LS7.
I just really like the Katech coil mount bracket setup.

I think, to a large extent, when you hear people bemoan prices, that there is a huge degree of human nature at play here. When we see something we like and hear a price for same, it falls (usually) into one or another category. The first (and always desirable) case is when the price is so intuitively "good to be true" that we can rationalize the purchase instantly as an impulse buy without regard to harmful effects upon the rest of our budgets. The second is when the price for the goods or services makes you pause and rationalize the purchase decision - this usually involves asking oneself tough questions about affordability, opportunity costs, or jeopardizing a relationship. In the latter case, humans typically "lash out" when holding off from pulling the trigger at the seller as the goods being "too pricey". Or, I can buy "brand x" for a certain amount. I personally don't like the appearance of "raw" cf - and think that it is being done to death - it will eventually become the polyester leisure-suit of car dress up - although I appreciate its strength-to-weight performance. In particular I find the raw cf woven roof panels on the ZR1 unattractive. Painted cf is the best of all worlds at this time (to me). O.k., comments over.:o

Jason, do these offer any more clearance than the aluminum series? I have a set of your new cast aluminum covers that I have not started installed, but it looks like I will need to clearance them for my ETLS7 heads with Jesel rockers. I am wondering if I should exchange them for the CF covers if they would work out of the box.

These cost us so much money to make we would be losing money if they were on sale.
No, they offer the same clearance. They were modeled after the aluminum covers.
